Comment:

He has good notes but overall his class is very difficult and will require a lot of your time. Never taught us VHDL and expected us to use it in all the projects. Project 3 was insanely difficult and open ended, but graded leniently. Exams are a LOT harder than lecture material. Some homeworks were easy and some were like 'what is this'? Curves tho

has good notes. Expects class to be your only class. Has long hw and gives same week of midterms. Practice midterms are midterms of other classes which are like a 3 his test are like a 10. grades were horrendous. Project 3 he expects you to do yourself when he does 3 lectures on vhdl. His fave "I can't help with that ". harder than 3010. JUST DON'T

Comment:

3561 is practically 2060 on amphetamines. I found that Eylem did a great job of digging deeper into the concepts, making you think just a little more about what you are learning. Tests and projects were kinda hard, so make sure you start studying/working on them before hand. TIP: When you make your cheat sheet, screen cap pictures from his lectures

Comment:

Lots of grades in this class. Exams were pretty difficult for me personally, and the projects towards the end get REALLY hard. He likes to assign homework projects and midterms all in the same week at times, so just keep on your toes. Pay attention, study, and you should do better than I did.

Really good professor. He is tough but does a great job explaining the material and knows quite a bit. He teaches with the mentality of us wanting to learn, not on the mentality its professor vs students. He is very helpful. The project for this class was terrible as it was super open-ended. We had no direction and this hurt us in the long run.

Took his online lecture and it was great! He records his lectures from class and also posts all the notes on carmen. He was a funny prof and explained the material very well. However, hw was challenging. Regarding the exams he said, "Expect to solve problems you havent seen before". True. He makes you think, not memorize. Nothing undoable thou.

I hated this man. He thinks that this is the only class students have. He will assign a homework due on a monday and then assign an entire project due on wednesday. His lectures are ok i suppose but overall i would NOT take this guy.

He is a good professor and teaches things well. I just wish the jump of difficulty to quizzes and midterms were nicer. Most other professors allow a note sheet, he doesnt until the final which hurts alot. Would I take him again? Probably. Just wish his exams were more related to his notes.

Good guy. This was a pretty good class overall. He did a good job explaining concepts on the board in class. Though, he puts waaay too many slides online, which go overboard on information. The main issue I had in this class, was that there was a leap of understand from what was covered in class to the HW and sometimes the tests too.

Ekici is a very good professor, and I would definitely take a class with him again if given the opportunity. The class itself can be difficult and the book isn't particularly helpful in giving examples. I'd recommend studying from the quizzes and starting the projects early - if you wait till the last minute you probably won't finish.

This class was interesting, and about the easiest 700 level engineering course you'll ever take. If he just did more examples instead of lecturing over PPT slides it would have been even easier. Overall, very few and small HW's, final is the last day of class. Take this class with Ekici!

This guy is actually pretty good. He is very clear in lecture, but his examples took days to do, and helped little on exams. HW also did not reflect exam content. Really the exams were easier than the rest of the class- I would study from the quizzes. Good prof for digital design (561) overall.
