Comment:
Kind woman but doesn't strive to make her course engaging in the slightest. Ridiculous amount of content in lectures, and never gives any indication as to what material is the most important to know for tests. This style of teaching fosters pure rote memorization in students as opposed to actual learning. Disappointed.

Her notes are useful, but she is kind of hard to follow. You need to go to every lecture and copy her PPT because she will not put them online. But the PPT was really useful for the test. There are only 3 tests which are easy as long as you study the notes, and one long essay at the end of the term.

Very easy to do well in her class, she is a very nice and friendly person but definitely not the best professor. She's often wrong in the information she says, gets really off topic and only covered half the material. The class is easy though with almost no readings, and 3 easy tests. The final in the class was a 7 page essay.

I'd love her to be my grandmother, but not my professor. Her lectures are boring and monotonous, so it is difficult to stay focused. I wish she did more to make the lectures engaging. No exam though :)

Gives ridiculous amounts of works per week and expects it to be completed with a written reflection. Lectures are completely scattered, no organization, no use of media or current events which could do so much for the class. I took Islam in the Modern World and was so disappointed at her lack of creativity and use of news and media in this class.

I found Forough interesting, but lectures are long and she doesn't use visuals, so i tended to drift off at times. She is really great, if you can manage to stay focused. Study and readings are important- tests and exams are multiple choice and factual, generally.

Have taken several courses with her. If you can take great notes in lectures and on readings you will be ok. Tests are straight forward with no cheap shots BUT you need to know everything from lectures and readings. If you do not attend class regularily YOU WILL HAVE NO CHANCE

Heavy accent. Clear about what is on test. If you take amazing notes - AKA writing everything down that she says then you will do fine. Tries to be approachable but does not work for her. Not very reliable and a little inconsistent on assignment expectations however not to strict. Easy mark if you take amazing notes.

She is very educated in religion but fails to convey it in an organized manner. Lectures are almost overwhelming and unfortunately because she was unable to get through all the material she was supposed to, her class is forced to educate themselves on almost an entire unit, while she rushes to explain everything which is just impossible. Needs to b

I thought she was great. Her tests SEEMED easy but her marking was brutally hard - my one complaint - and she could sometimes be unreasonable about it. But her lectures were always engaging, and I never once found myself looking at the clock. Guest speakers were interesting too. Lectures could be confusing, but the material is confusing.

Gentle sense of humour.Better for upper year, self directed students. From Iran-great stories of Revolution days there. Careful to give all sides of story, liberal or resurgent, heavy on historical/social/political context. One of my favorite profs. Be prepared to brush up on Arabic phrases.

Her lectures were difficult to understand, and unfocussed at times. She would benefit greatly from the use of visual aids, but doesn't use any. That said, the material is interesting, and the tests are easy.

Her tests are very easy only focusing on memorization, however, she was very wrong on many aspects of Judaism, having studied it for 12 years, she definitly was not so qualified to teach it, I mean, she spelled Israel wrong. Easy to do well, interesting, but not so trustworthy as an expert.

She was useless as a teacher, because she placed a large emphasis on memorization, and didn't care whether we understood the material. What kind of exam is 10 definitions long? Some call it easy, I call it LAZY PROF SYNDROME...conclusion: WORST PROF EVER
