Fred is extremely passionate about what he does and it truly shows in his lectures. He tries is absolute best to convey the boring material as effectively as possible. The downside is you have to sit through every lecture. He will absolutely not provide notes outside of lecture time. These notes are essential as his exams are structured around them

Honestly Dr. Clark is the best prof I've had at the u of a. His notes are pretty bad as he doesn't post completed slides but the lectures are so interesting that it more then makes up for it. 10/10 would take again

My favourite professor. Really caring and passionated about his field. The course itself is not easy but if you are interested in paleontology and geology, he is the best person.

This professor gave a lot of course material. Yes you learn a lot. However, he tends to speak in a monotone voice which can cause minds to wander. No phones are allowed to be seen by him. If you're looking at this course because it says dinosaurs in the title and you think it will be fun, I would drop it. iClicker questions are on the exam.

I can see how Clark's lectures could be boring if you have no interest in Earth Sci, but if you do then he is great. Lots of local examples and the format let's you sit back, relax, and learn some cool stuff. Lots of his iclicker questions show up on eclass and the man grades tests at the speed of light.

Dr. Clark is so passionate about geology and earth sciences and it makes caring about the class a lot easier. Partial notes are put on eClass and then during lectures, power points are gone through with the missing notes that you need to fill in. Pay attention to iClicker questions as a lot of them are on the exams.

Dr. Clark may seem a little dry, but I found his lectures engaging due to my love for the subject. I found the textbook useful for the lab component of the course, but unnecessary for the lecture component. You do need to show up for class, as he posts lecture outlines that are filled in during class.

Overall a good choice for a professor, he tests straight from his notes and his iclicker questions. His exam questions are straight forward and don't actually require that much critical thinking. He can be a little dry and the course covers a lot of material covered in other biology and zoology courses on vertebrate development.

Great prof and the only prof so have fun. The labs are stressful but my tips are to talk to everyone sitting around you and help each other, and don't be afraid to ask the TAs for information. 95% of the substance of his exams were covered in notes, other 5% from iClicker questions, so write those/their answers down! Good luck.

I enjoyed Dr. Clark's class. It's clear that he's knowledgeable in what he teaches. You need to come to class every day in order to fill in the notes, plus iClicker questions which do show up on the tests. Tests consist of mostly multiple choice with a written response portion. The better you are at memorizing the notes, the better you'll do.

If you're taking this class as a GPA booster because it has "dinosaurs" in the course name, go to Beartracks right now and drop it. This person is one of the most punitive (and dull) professors I've ever encountered, and cares very little for his students. Take something more interesting that'll actually help your GPA, this class isn't worth it.

He's funny when he calls people out for being loud. He teaches the course very well and constantly gives applications for what you're currently learning about. I came into the course, thinking it was going to be super boring, but he made it pretty fun!

Dr. Clark has been teaching for 26 years now, and his experience shows--clear criteria, very organized (he returns midterms the day after! what?!), respectful to students and expects and receives the same from them. I really enjoyed having him as a prof. His methods are slightly dated in that he doesn't post slides, but his note packages are great!

Tests straight from his notes, zero continuity. So a lot to memorize. Lectures were also very dry, and he has fill in the blank notes, so attendance is mandatory. However, if you are good at memorizing, then i suggest you take his class. Other than that, avoid him.

His class is a little bit plain, but all contents in the course are covered. His explanation to certain definition or academic phrases is very important because these will largely appear in exam. All class notes are the range of the final exam so the text book will not be always used.

He was great, memorize the notes and the class is a breeze. Going to lectures is necessary to fill in the notes + the iclicker questions show up on exams, sometimes he made jokes. Knows alot about earth science, passionate. I winged the final worth 45% and got a 75% on it just cuz I went to every class. He says he doesn't curve but he does.

Two midterms worth 25%, iClicker participation 5% and a final worth 45%. The test were a cumulative with one short answer. The class is mind numbingly boring, it's not as easy to get a very good mark in this class. Most will end the class with a B
