Dr. Sobel is an excellent Professor that if she sees you working hard, you will be rewarded. She is very straight to the point and there are no surprises. She gives great study guides and if you study you will def. pass the tests. she also drops your lowest test score. As long as you study, and come on time you will pass.

Very nice professor, but probably the worst lecturer I've ever had in my life. Gets sidetracked during lectures saying how PhD is better than medical doctors, then races through the slides and skips more than half the material. Do not take this class if you want to learn, if you just care about the grade then go for it, she drops the lowest test

I had Dr. Sobel for bio 101 she was amazing. Very understanding, she works with you if she sees your trying. Lowest exam grade is dropped and she gave alot of review sheets before the test that were very helpful. Show up to class and make an effort and you will pass. I wish all my science professors were this nice

Okay, where can I start. The worst professor Ive ever had, Im shocked at these other ratings because this professor doesnt care at all. Shes all over the place and doesnt explain anything. She thinks because she has a PHD she knows what shes speaking about. She talks way too much and doesnt explain anything. Very rude and disrespectful.

Im taking her for a summer course. I was a bit hesitant on taking such an intense class given such a short time period but she is absolutely understanding. reading labs and lectures before class is a plus, but as long as you study her slideshows you will pass her test. gives TONS of extra credit. no way you will fail. drops worst grade in labc

Mandatory supervised studying outside of class. Im not sure how this is allowed considering not everyone has the time to sit in the study room and log hours outside of class time. This professor actually found joy in watching half of the class withdraw. Only teaching she actually did was through slides that she didnt give enough time to copy

Such a great Professor. Really enjoyed taking her class. She really pushed us and made sure we earned the grade we deserved. Do all the assignments and study and you will do great.

She definitely has good days and bad, doesn't like questions, most of the time my hand was up she ignored me. She is challenging but if show you are trying hard and doing the work she will be lenient toward you. The first test was difficult but then she started writing up her own and they were easier. Cares about you as a person, not just a student. Her lectures are extremely well thought out and creative. The most engaging professor I've had, and with a subject I'm not the most comfortable in.

This professor will change your life for the better. What you put in you she gives back double. A beautiful person who doesn't play favorites, just appreciates kids trying their best, even if the subject doesn't come naturally to them.

You can't walk in and get an A. You have to do the work. The people who are complaining are those who shouldn't be in college. Professors don't give you the slides. They lecture, you take notes. 50 questions on a bio exam is college level, the same as an AP Bio course. This woman is accessible, knowledgable, compassion, and hysterical. SOBEL!

She's brillant, and really cares about her students. If you do the work and are respectful, she will bend over backwards to help you get a good grade with tons of extra credit. She's also by FAR the most hilarious professor I've ever had. Really cares about making the material valuable in your life even if it's not your major.

She will most definitely challenge you. She had her good and bad days. She is extremely unpredictable, but she does offer an immense amount of extra credit. She is strict when it comes to lateness and can be a short fuse. Her lectures would go for two and a half hours straight with no break, so brace yourselves.

LITERALLY TEACHES OUT THE TEXT BOOK. She doesnt even get out of her seat during lecture, and this just makes it easier for you to do other things. She can not teach and is very mean spirited. People reported her and yet shes still teaching. If she doesn't like you, you're not passing,

I normally dont complain about teachers but this is by far the worst professor at nassau. Atleast 4 students tried to report her during the semester. She made a girl cry in class. She cant teach. If you wish to enjoy bio and not hate your life stay as far away from this class as you can.

Organized, creative, and very engaging. Will go out of her way to make sure you do the best in her class, and protects students from getting an F if they don't have the schedule to do the work. Highly recommend.
