Very easy class. His lectures are very long and boring. We spend way too long on each topic. He talks very slow and refuses to use any technology besides the projector (if he can even use it). Overall, very easy class- i dont study for the exams... got an A... but lordy he needs a brighter personality to keep me awake.

I took this class as a i found it interesting, Professor V is a very smart instructor, people often are put off by the fact he is a conservative, which in todays teaching profession is a minority. He will work with any student and help them pass his classes but will make you earn the grade. He will work with students who need a little boost.

I found professor Virostek to be very offensive. He always finds ways to bring up his political views and while I was in class, he went too far and brought up what happened in Florida. The entire class found it distasteful and crude. On the plus side, he offered a five point extra credit however the only question was whats North of South Korea?

This teacher is very disrespectful and his thinking is outdated. All he likes to talk about is the Middle East and terrorists. If you're Muslim it will make you feel very uncomfortable.

His info is SO outdated. He has this sort of dry humor, however he does NOT know how to keep his opinions from the facts, if it goes against his belief which he abruptly includes in every lecture then he won't teach it. Only exams & a paper but you must take notes. His grading is awful, his lectures are slow & drawn out, hard core conservative...

Great teacher and outstanding human being. Would take a class with him again without a doubt. Loved the lectures and the fact that he is one of the few professors that transmits historical knowledge without apologizing for America & our values, not the typical leftist, but inclusive! Great! We need more people like him, he made me laugh a lot.

Mr. Virostek's class was rough to sit through. His lectures are very boring as he is monotone, and uses maps on an overhead projector from the 90's. Only four grades throughout the semester, 3 exams and a paper, so you really have to do well on them. He is rather conservative and will show it, but so do most liberal professors so who cares?

Virostek's class was pretty painful. He's very much stuck in the 90's from the overhead projector to the information he presents. He's VERY conservative (at least as it pertains to International Relations) and usually doesn't give the full side of the story, which made the Social Geography aspect of the class really horrid. It's an easy A, though.

This professor is awesome! Though he may speak a bit monotone at times, he tries to make the class fun by joking around. He makes sure you understand everything that he teaches and is understanding if there is a problem in class or outside of it. Tests can be a bit of a challenge, but as long as you study you should be fine.

I find it funny that people think this class is so hard. It's basic college level stuff. Study and ask questions. He will help you if you ask for it. I didn't open the book a single time. Don't bother buying it just borrow it or go to the library if you need to. This class is EASY if you aren't lazy and actually show up and take notes.

Tests are extremely hard. Will test you over things that haven't been discussed. Even if the entire class fails a test he will not have a curve. I respect him a lot because he wont give in to students who are used to an easy ride. Little too extreme on the term paper. If you forget a citation he tells you that you'd be fired from a job for it.

Until the last day of class, i thought he was fairly decent. he gave out random Xtra credit, made study guides for all the tests, and only assigned 1 paper. BUT the one paper came with ridiculous grading standards...i spent 3 days on my paper, only to have it rejected: cite e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. still cant believe that paper. see the other reviews.

Mr V. has a couple of habits that can grow annoying, and he will absolutely not let you out early, even if he has nothing more to add to the lecture. He lets his conservative opinion known. As long as you ATTEND CLASS (and not sleep through it) and MAKE a SOMEWHAT sincere EFFORT, it is a piece of cake. Definately recommend, did not need my book.

Very poor teacher to say the least. Bashes the CSCC english department for not being able to do their job and you get the punishment with your graded papers. Believes there is no such thing as common knowledge when referring to HDI papers. Monotone speaker. Has a big head. Should be removed from teaching. Don't take his class!
