Dr. Litchford is an awesome professor. Very wise with no time for stupidity and ignorance. This man has an incredible way to "guide" his students as he makes them realize that learning is never-ending. Wonderful man!! Also, if a student is too lazy and/or apathetic to read a course's provided textbook, then whose fault is it... really?

Doc kicked my butt on a few tests 30 years ago but I have to admit I learned more in his classes than in any other of the bio classes that I took. Because of this my marine masters degree was much easier. They don't spoon feed in grad school. Enjoy your retirement.

So much I could write so little space. Doc is a cranky old man who is all about letting the student show him what they can do. All of his tests will come straight from the text supplied tests. At first it will be like he isn't teaching you anything but all the sudden you know everything about the course. Just open your eyes and learn.

Doc will not help you, and if you ask for help, he'll act like it's your fault you don't know everything there is to know about esc. he's ridiculous and his tests are insane. he'll take the most minute and tiniest details from a single page of the text and expect you to remember it on the test. avoid him if possible!

where do i began.he does powerpoints BUT DOESNT use the textbook NOT ONCE YET gives questions from out the BOOK. 1st test covers 10 chapters.. 100 questions for each test(only 3 tests he gives)final covers the WHOLE BOOK.give 5-6 opinion papers to write..i wish the best to anyone who takes this class and needs it

Doc is a cantankerous old fart who's been around here longer than most of the buildings. But he's also a scuba instructor and rides his Victory motorcycle to work every day. I hope to be as vital as he is when I'm in my 70s. You WILL fail his first test. Do ALL the extra credit. Pay attention in class. You WILL get an A and make a friend.

Very un-PC, but funny in his own quirky way. Doesn't do a damn thing in the lab. You have to figure it out yourself. However, class wasn't hard. Quizzes were easy. I made a 96 in the class with little to no effort at all.

I had Dr. Litchford in Biology, Parasitology, and as an advisor. He was one of the best instructors I've ever had. Very informal but with an emphasis on student-directed learning. He will not baby you but will guide you. Excellent knowledge of material.
