Pretty much, if you don't go to class and memorize all of his experiments, you will fail. He is a funny guy but i do not like the way he taught this course.

Power points are seriously lacking in information. You must go to class because all the tested information comes from his mouth. I recommend recording his lectures and making your own notes from the recordings. midterms consist of about 10 MCQ and 6 short answer questions (explain the theory and then give examples). Alot of material in this class

I also took his 8:45 lecture and it is crazy to me how little people showed up for these lectures, especially after taking the midterms. You have to show up & do what you need to do to get down what he's explaining because the textbook is not helpful AT ALL . Can come off as arrogant especially after class but is very friendly during office hours.

Super interesting lecturer. I took his 8:45 lecture and only missed class when i was sick. He has a good sense of humour and likes to engage his students. His exams are example heavy so you need to go to class or you WILL FAIL. Show up and review his notes and you'll do well. Doesn't mind meeting students for help and his TA is helpful too.

Very interesting class, in my opinion. Grant Brown has an funny sense of humour and he's really entertaining in class. However, if you want a good grade, you definitely have to put a good amount of work into it. Final exam is as short as the midterm.

The class itself was a bit boring. Failed the midterm but managed a good grade regardless. The teacher is pretty awesome. He's very sarcastic and I enjoyed his stories. If you can't take a joke don't sit too close to the front. Overall a pretty easy class and a funny teacher.

Arrogant and unhelpful. Makes fun of students all the time. Made mistakes on his midterm and completely refused to acknoweldge it. He is all smiles around the cute girls. Worst professor in the department.

This prof is amazing! i dont know why other comments were left saying he was an a**. every time i have spoken to him in & out of class he has always been friendly and helpful. He expects his students to actually do work. is always available for help. you do have to go to class or youll be lost. exams are fair. overall great experience in his class.

I completely agree with previous comments. It is apparent he knows his field inside out, but he gives a really unfriendly vibe. It was always unpleasant when I had to talk to him outside of class.

SO good! take it. i had him for 354 and 321 and get me awake every morning at 10:15. you have to go to class or you'll be lost, but if you do attend it's a breeze. exams are really fair if you study and pay attention in class. i loved it!

Very interesting, very helpful, and an all around great prof. He knows his stuff INCREDIBLY well, so its damn near impossible to B.S. anything in this course. I highly reccomend this course as it was interesting, and Brown is one of the best (plus FUNNIEST) profs that Con. U. has to offer.

Say what you will about the other ones, some are really good...This guy is just amazing, not just in doing his research, but as a teacher he is beyond the reach of ALL of the others. Take his courses if you want to be a scientist
