By far of my favorite classes that I took at Santa Clara. He is an incredible lecturer. We covered a plethora of topics during the 10 weeks. The class was not too hard. Two tests and two papers. I highly recommend taking him for POLI 25. I would 100% take him again.

He is a nice professor, but a pretty tough grader. I received great comments on my essays and midterms yet wouldn't receive better than a B+. His lectures seemed a little confusing to me. If you make an effort to do the readings, listen attentively in class and prepare well for the exams you can get an A or A-. but don't take this for an easy A!!

Professor Corning is one of the nicest and most caring professors I've had. I took IPE with him, and let me just say that I did not understand a lot of things, but he did his best to make sure the class was on the same page and had a grasp of the concepts. He's also hilarious. However, don't be caught using digital devices in class. Recommend him.

Professor Corning isn't an extremely bad professor. However, he isn't a good one. He lectures everyday except for the occasional class discussion. He is extremely monotonous and if he put the lecture notes online you wouldn't have to come to class. He is absolutely not helpful in office hours also, just reads your paper but doesn't communicate.

He's super awesome! Very clear lectures and helpful in office hours. Tip: if you take your essays to him during office hours, he'll literally sit their and edit it all for you. Also, definitely come to class having read on discussion days. You don't have to read the textbook, but definitely read the articles he gives you!!! or you'll feel stupid.

A very straight forward professor. You will know what he wants you to learn and what is expected on tests and essays. The workload for this class is quite manageable. Despite this, he grades relatively harder than most professors. He is a pretty good professor that I would recommend to anyone.

easy going professor. attendance is basically not required as long as you do the readings. they're pretty lengthly but it's the equivalent to not doing it and going to class to take notes. which are very helpful. 2 papers, midterm and final not cumulative. straight forward and btw professor corning is HOTTTT.

Enjoyed the class--Corning makes the class enjoyable. He can be a difficult grader but if you read the material and especially pay attention during class you'll know exactly what he's looking for. Go to office hours, get help, get to know him.
