She's a nice professor and really cares about how you do in class and wants you to become a better writer. She explains the readings very deeply and will even take up a whole class explaining them so that you truly understand them and can use them in your essays. She also really wants you to participate. Try not to miss class too much.

She's really nice but treats her students like high school students. She talks way too close to your face so be careful about that. The readings are pretty easy and so are the essays but don't expect an A. She always says you can improve as a writer no matter how well you write so if you're used to As don't be disappointed when you don't get one

She's very kind but not great at teaching. The textbook is HUGE, @ you need it EVERY DAY. Only had two essays - both easy. Midterm&Final were both LONG and tedious - too much is expected in a small amount of time. She expects students to read before coming to class then has us reread the works again in class "-_- It's an easy but aggravating class.

Treats you as if you're in high school. If you didn't read or didn't finish reading she will call you out in front of the class and belittle you. Other then that she is nice, just not very understanding. She is somewhat unclear on what she wants. Her presentations are a bit lacking as well. I wouldn't recommend her.

Unless you're an English major and love reading and writing for COUNTLESS hours, don't bother. This was one elective class that I live to regret taking.Expect more work than you can possibly handle. I have just begun to take Dr. Chari's film and lit class this quarter, but for many years now, I have wanted to take a class with this outstanding professor. I was present when she spoke at a documentary showing by Ella Shohat, Forget Bagdad, and had a wonderful impression of her. I also ran into her while in the English dept talking to another professor and decided that before I graduate that I have to take at least one class with her. She's brilliant, understanding, patient, and yes, very loving.

VERY INSIGHTFUL PROFESSOR WHO HAS A PASSION FOR WHAT SHE IS TEACHING. SHE GOES FROM THE BASICS TO THE CORE. TOOK HER FOR A COUPLE OF CLASSES. SHE DOES HAVE A TENDECY TO FORGET, BUT WHAT GREAT MIND DOESN'T.
