Amazing Professor. Every lecture was super engaging. She has an incredible life story and she often drew from her experiences to explain topics. Whenever she talked about her life, the classroom just went quiet because everyone was so interested. Excellent experience, absolutely would take again.

She is very passionate about the subject which makes this enjoyable. She is a very tough grader but assumes you will improve as the semester goes on. Class discussion is interesting but often times digresses.

Really enjoyed Ethics with her. She spends lots of time on every concept, so newcomers to philosophy don't have to worry about ever feeling too lost. I would definitely recommend Pendleton if you're looking to dabble in philosophy but feel nervous about the dense readings. She's great at explaining concepts. Exams aren't too difficult, either.

Learned a lot of different perspectives. She knew how to relate the course to current events which isn't easy in philosophy.

I thought she was excellent. I don't understand the students who had trouble with her. I think they don't understand that she's often trying to show them all sides of the picture, playing devil's advocate to challenge them. Good course.

Pendleton is very sweet and kind, but doesn't have the brains to teach philosophy. Has trouble with the concepts herself and explains them poorly. Very picky grader. No tests till final. Cares about students, but no good at teaching them. Texts are weak, many uninteresting. Try and get other professors.

She's a nice lady...wants you to understand the concepts and such, but really does not know how to do it. Rambles for 20-30 minutes on a single subject that could have been summed up in a sentance or two. She's really lenient about paper deadlines, she's pretty understanding if you need an extension. She's nice, but just not very interesting.

Really wants to help you, and really wants you to understand, but she just hasn't found the ability to clearly explain philosophical concepts to a class so that they will understand and be interested

She was so unclear and appeared unsure of the material herself. She always cut off our discussion when we were actually expressing our ideas bc she seemed to get confused...def. don't recommend her.
