let me be clear: GET THE TEXTBOOK! that is the ONLY source for which you will get any information for this course. Read it front to back, back to front, and up-side-down. He only grades off 3 exams, does not upload grades into webcourses, and its 100% based off of the book. His exam questions can be tricky too for wording and he doesn't clarify.

very difficult at first. Does not teach you, but I would suggest going to class so he gets to know you and so that you can get review material. Everything is staight from the book. I recieved an A and read each chapter about 7 times. The first test may intimidate you but just keep trying, you can make a comeback! very difficult, need to WORK

Wow, most difficult class ever.. After failing the first test with a D, I stopped showing up regularly for classes because if you read the book you don't have to be subjected to his confusing lectures. Passed with a C even after I studied hard. I it weren't for Ms. Eaton's lab I would have failed. Beware if you are close to graduating.

Knows the material very well, not good at disseminating information. You will only get the syllabus once through email and he does not use webcourses so keeping up with your 3 exam grades will be dependent on your attendance. Reading the book chapters and teaching yourself is best, the lectures are poorly paced and could confuse.

What an intelligent professor with a passion for research and speech perception. Although he is caring and compassionate, he is not going to give you the grade. This class is tough because you have to understand the material and be able to apply it on the tests. If you read the chapters and write down muddy points before class, he will clarify.

Doesn't actually teach. Short, dry powerpoints which he reads too quickly for you to take notes from (take pictures QUICKLY). The whole class is graded on three tests (DIFFICULT tests). No study guide. If you ask questions about exam content, you wont get a real answer. Does not care about teaching, class, his students or their success.

Awful. You will study for hours and hours and still fail his exams because the questions are so random.

What makes his classes hard actually isn't the material, it's how specific his tests are. He overcompensates for the fact that no one shows up to his lectures and seems to choose sentences at random from his textbook to pull for test questions. He used to curve his tests (at least he did when I took production with him) but doesn't anymore.

NOT THAT BAD. You are going to have to work for the grade that you want. JUST READ THE BOOK. Read every chapter twice & wrote outlines for them and got an A. Graded on 3 exams so study hard for them. You just have to put in the effort. He is the only one who teaches speech science 2 so I would take him for speech science 1 to get use to his tests.

Were do I start? He is by far the WORST professor I've had. His class consists of 3 exams. His teaching style is lack luster. He's voice makes you want to fall asleep. His class is sooooo dry. You can tell he lost passion for teaching a long time ago. You have to buy HIS book to pass the course. If you have test anxiety don't take his class.

The worst professor I've had so far. Doesn't do class. He wrote the book so expect no answers for questions or any efforts from him. There is only 3 tests. No homework, no papers, nothing else to get your grades up. Just tests which are tricky and difficult. DO NOT TAKE HIM. You expect that a professor with a psychology degree would be better.. Nah

DO NOT TAKE! The class is only 3 exams and he picks out random facts. I reread each chapter several times and had a good understanding of the material but his test questions were very specific and not about the main concepts. His lectures are a waste of time. When you ask questions he is very rude and makes you feel like you are wasting his time.

3 tests. Book required. Read. Take notes. Study. I took notes, reread the book and studied lab notes. At first the test seem easy and when you get them back you did worse than you thought. If would dropped this class if I could go back to the beginning of the semester. Doesnt use webcourses, so it's impossible to keep track of your grade or contact

He doesnt likes after school ours or desk hours, asking him question inside a classroom is impossible he tries to intimidate you . He just gives three 3 exams and that's it . Either you make it or stay out of that class . If something came up oh well am sorry for you that's it , policy . Another thing is that he makes the test trying to trick you.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER! His class is very short, and he is very monotone. Tried quzilet and reading, but i would recommend just reading the book a couple times, and glancing at quizlet. WORST EVER. 3 test, no curve. GOOD LUCK

Your class grade is solely made of three tests. That's it. Dr. Ryalls's tests are also very wordy and tend to pick out specific, arbitrary facts from his textbook. There are no supplementary sources for the material discussed in class-- there is a lab, but that hardly helps. Simply put, read, read again, and read some more.

READ THE BOOK. READ THE BOOK. He wrote the book and his tests are based solely on it. His lectures are just reviewing the book, (I didn't attend many lectures). The tests can be very tricky and wordy, so read the book over and over and take notes on it. He's pretty tough of make-ups and communication. He's great, but very old school.
