Professor Miller is a nice person! But not the best teacher. She claimed the first day of clas sit would be discussion based but lectured us the whole time, not giving us the time to actually participate. She has taught these poems so many times now it is over worked and just boring for her too.

professor miller is very soft-spoken, but don't mistake that for passiveness. she will crack down on you if you're slacking, and let you know. definitely can be intimidating when she needs to; just do the required work and you won't have a problem with her. conversations can actually be quite enjoyable when you initiate them.

Professor Miller can be monotonous, but if you engage and make an attempt at the material, she really works with you and will help you think. She likes to throw hard questions at you right when you think you have an idea so you can explore a text to its depths. Really wants everyone's opinions so please participate. Has helped me as a writer.

Dull, repetitive, and incredibly boring are a few words to describe Professor Miller. Left this class feeling like I learned nothing. Work is easy but that's not what I took this class for. I want a challenging, engaging professor. People were on their phones, computers, and doodling the entire time. Shoes no interest in her work. DO NOT TAKE!

Loved her. She really knows her stuff and can give you an in-depth history on every poet we went over. Take her if you like discussions. I took 17th cent. poetry because it fit in my schedule and expected it to suck, but I've grown to really like the topic. If you discuss and read the stuff, you don't even need to study for the exams.

She is great, Though she is monotone, she is very excited about Spenser and the Renaissance. She understands the plight of Rutgers students and is always willing to meet with you to go over thoughts and concepts on the material. I recommend her seminar on Spenser. It is hard and you will participate in discussion. Dont take her if you aren't social

I took Prof. Miller for 17th Century Poetry. She's very soft spoken. If you visit her for office hours, she's helpful and really nice. You'll use the books a lot. Her exams are q's (interpret/discuss this) and an essay portion. Also, there are several small writing assignments throughout the semester. Also, she really likes class participation!

Honestly, Professor Miller doesn't even seem as though she wants to be a teacher. Her asides to students are almost entirely unhelpful and she is thoroughly condescending. Lectures were boring and people fell asleep in almost every class. Thank goodness the papers were graded lightly. I do not recommend her at all.

Prof. Miller is really clear, easy to understand and helpful during office hours. She takes a subject that's not super interesting but helps you understand it a lot. She is soft spoken but you just have to listen and you'll get a lot out of the class.

Very helpful, very knowledgeable. Despite the fact that she may be perceived as rather boring (16th Cent. Lit. is a rather boring topic) she's super passionate about her subjects, always willing to clarify and help her students. If you put in the effort, it's worth it.

Not sure why there is a lot of hate toward Prof Miller. Is the class boring? Okay..but she has a very soothing voice, not overbearing. Many students are on facebook, doing crossword puzzles, and sleeping! Nonetheless, Prof. Miller is fair, flexible, and really pretty nice. Just don't expect scintillating lectures. 3 papers, mid-term, final. All tak

Honestly, the most boring professor ever. Nice enough person, but I don't think I've ever had a lecturer who stared at the floor and spoke in a bland, low volume monotone the entire class before her. Wouldn't recommend.

Extremely knowledgeable. Lectures are a little dry, but likely only because I don't have much interest in the topic. Still she is very open to student opinions and questions. Assignments are straight forward and easy if you remember to be as wishy washy and liberal, i.e, middle of the road/ of the opinion there is no right answer as she is.

Okay, her lectures are dry, but her passion for the sbj is evident. She wants discussions and it's up to the students to generate ?s-she loves ?s! For Miller, there are no pat answers, and this is difficult for many ppl to grasp since most prof. want us to find answers. You will learn a lot if you read and participate or go to of. hrs.

I dont understand why everyone thought Prof Miller was so horrible. I really enjoyed her class. But I do not recommend the class if you dont have prior interest in the Renaissance AND poetry, it will be a total bore! Class is pretty easy and straightforward.

Really, really bad prof. I know some people are sticking up for her, but she is the worse lecturer I have ever had. Imagine listening to someone open their mouth and making the same sound over and over again. people would sleep, vring food, I saw someone painting.
