I LOVE PROFESSOR MCGILL. She is the best professor I've ever had at Rutgers. She is extremely kind and absolutely brilliant. Her lectures are interesting, and she appreciates participation, so get ready to talk about sonnets. I wish I could take her again. DEFINITELY TAKE IF YOU ARE AN ENGLISH MAJOR.

So sweet and passionate about Poe and she's funny. You will walk away a Poe expert. Lectures can get boring because you basically discuss in depth what you read the night before. There really are no guidelines for her writing, so kind of just hope you are a good writer and use quotes. She takes forever to get grades back. Must read before class.

Professor McGill is wonderfully brilliant. I'm an English major so of course I had high prior interest, but really - SHE KNOWS HER STUFF. Read what you have to read and you will do well. Always friendly, always willing to help. Great professor.

McGill is a great teacher, although I did have her in a small classroom setting. I did not want to take a poetry class prior to this one, but needed it for my major. McGill sparked an interest in poetry by clearly conveying its strengths and making sure the class could keep up. An easy A/B if you do all the work.

rediscovered my hobby for blogging because of this class. class is pretty boring, though she's quite generous on participation grading. it's really discussing readings, and blogging at least twice a week. she talks way too fast that i had to ask her to repeat her question a few times.

she talks unbelievably fast. I learned everything in this class (intro. to lit. study) from my TA. His name is Craig Iturbe, and I think he'll be teaching at some point, but anyway, he was good, she was just...eh. Don't bother, unless you don't have a choice.

Smart but hard to follow. Talks like she thinks she is the only one in the room. Very difficult to get feedback or answers from. Seems frantic all the time. It's not that she's bad, it's just that there are so many better professors, why waste your time?

I liked her at first but she can get really nasty. she talks incredibly fast and can be insanely boring sometimes. class wasnt bad. not easy but definitely not hard. exams questions come straight from the lecture. keep up with the reading and go to class, and you'll get a B+ or an A.
