She truly cares about helping you improve your writing. If you put the effort, you can definitely earn a good grade. She is extremely helpful, always willing to meet with students and chooses fun literature to read. Her comments are always constructive. I have carried with me all I learned in this class throughout my Berkeley career.

The most dedicated professor I've had a Cal! She made herself very accessible to students (more office hours than most professors) and she wrote very detailed comments on papers to help you improve your writing. It's not hard to get a good grade in this class because she cares more about you improving your writing than you getting a good grade

Take college writing R1A with her!!! The course is very intereting even though the workload is pretty intense. But I ensure you that every other R1A class does more than we do. We get out of class early everyday! She is a fun teacher and very down to earth! But there is no hope for an A. Insightful!

Very nice person - cheerful with a good sense of humor. The class was fun, though could be more challenging. She concentrates on Western lit and themes. My only complaint was that we didn't learn how to do a library-research style paper.
