Dr. Netto is probably one of the best professors Ive had so far. The only problem I had with this course was that he has 5pm deadlines and found it hard to meet them sometimes because of work. Does reading checks so if you do the reading u will pass.

Great Teacher took Film English161 over the spring. Clear criteria, he makes it hard to fail. Him and his T.A make this class a great experience and why I am taking this instructor for English 103 over the summer

I thought it was an okay class. He did science fiction this semester but a lot of the movies shown are older and boring. He puts all the lectures and homework online and you could honestly rent the movies and watch them in the comfort of your home. I would reccomend going to class for the lecture because he does give some extra info in class.

Professor Netto is amazing! Film appreciation was fun and interesting and laid back! You watch a movie and then later go online and do a discussion post, and then there are a couple of tests. Really smart, really funny (in a cheesy way sometimes, but funny nonetheless)! I wish I had known that he does ENGL103 because I would have taken him!

Took English 103 online class over the summer. He is very straightforward with what he wants in the class. Understanding some of the material was a little difficult but he told us we could use SparkNotes. We only had 3 essays and like 4 journal Assignments. I didn't feel crammed at all. Good Professor, I would recommend.

Very easy going class and teacher! Highly recommend: not missing any of the discussions online, turn in work on time(easy points), read lecture notes online if you don't have a book. There is discussions, two midterms, and the final are all online that are open book/lecture notes. Class makes you critically think and learn about concepts of film.

Film Appreciation is an "Easy A" class. He has a genre for each semester, with this semester being Science Fiection focusing on humanity. He is extremely funny and the films he chose were usually entertaining. He has a textbook, but I've never used it. Grade based on discussions on each film, 2 midterms, and the final exam. EC "final" film optional

I took Film Appreciation and it was going in once a week to watch an old movie. The only homework was a 100 reflection on the movie each week. If you know basic facts on film making, camera angles you don't need the textbook, if you don't know those you could still scrape by. For us, one quiz and the final was online, one other was in class.

Jeff Netto is an amazing professor! He walks you through just about every assignment and explains everything he wants in your essays thoroughly. He also offers extra credit. He has such a good attitude and a great sense of humor. Be sure to keep up with the reading if you want to pass the quizzes (which are short and simple).

Comment:
If you like 1950s black and white noir films that are about love and murder and have the same plot every time this class is for you. The class is out of 100 points so every point counts. Film appreciation sounds fun but unless you LOVE noir class will be boring. Teacher is cool but doesn't teach you just watch movies and the test are kinda hard.

Dr. Netto is honestly the best! He really wants you to succeed and is willing to help you. There's homework everyday and they stamped the next day. I enjoyed my time in this class and learned so much. The two mid-term papers and final are really all that matter as part of your grade but do your work!

All I got to say is that this professor is freaking hilarious! Movies are really long though and can be boring. But this class is an easy A if you just pay attention. He also gives a really nice extra credit opportunity in the end.

I had him for English 50 and he gives hw everyday so if you miss the next day when it's stamped you won't get credit for it. He doesn't except anything late but if you're always there it's not a hard class to pass. Your grade is mainly based off of the three test you take and your notebook.

Lecture in the beginning, then you watch a film till the end of class. If you aren't big on film, you may get bored. Aspiring of current cinemaphiles will enjoy his class. This semester was film noir themed. The homework is a response to each film online. Overall, I really liked his class and enthusiasm for EVERY aspect of film

Will say on thing and does the opposite without any warning. Not professional, jokes in class most of the time and is the only one laughing at them. Ignores students when asking for help. Doesn't reply to emails sent by students. Uses a lot of profanity in class. Doesn't make sense in his lectures. Shames students.

Mr. Netto was a direct yet kind teacher. He was very clear of what he wanted and ensured you of his expectations without any confusion whatsoever. Very easy to take this class over the summer, so it should be even easier over semester. Would take him again.
