overall she is a really knowledgeable professor. she knows what she is talking about which is great when you have questions or want further insight on the subject. but she is a really tough grader. make sure you follow exact requirements for projects so you can get the best grade, otherwise you are marked down a lot.

BEST TIP FOR 101C ONLINE: Take ALL of the quizzes in the modules even though you don't get graded for them. Take them over and over (at least 4 times) because there are new questions each time. Paste all questions on a google doc and use this to study for the midterm and final. She doesn't provide a study guide for either so you're welcome :)

Comment:
Took the 100W hybrid course, there's a lot of busy work and groupwork. There's no makeups, so make sure you complete your work on time and put in the required effort (wordcount) otherwise you will lose a lot of points in this course. Textbook is required for weekly discussion questions and open-book exams. Not a hard class, just a lot of writing.

I think Professor Morrison is a wonderful professor. However, I think that taking her class as an Adult returning Student is not a good idea. I really think this class is geared more for a much younger generation who haven't had the life experience that much older student's have had with regard to preparing for the workforce after the degree.

It was my first semester at SJSU, and I am extremely fortunate to have been able to have Dr. Morrison as an instructor. She was very helpful, clear, and easy to speak with. There are many assignments spread out through the semester, but they are very doable and can be completed ahead of time. Overall, really enjoyed this course and learned a lot.

So I took COMM 174 over the winter semester for GE. It's winter semester so it's obviously very hectic, but not impossible. Buy the textbook because there will be a quiz for every chapter. She is super organized, and an easy grader. The material is actually pretty interesting, and all the assignments help you write the final paper.

I took this class during winter and the workload seemed too high, but I was taking another winter class also. Dr. Morrison is very helpful and always answers questions right away. The work builds up to help you do the final essay, which is really interesting. You'll learn a lot in the class. Winter students are motivated and made it more fun.

Awesome professor! Very organized! clear & precise lectures! I used an old version of the textbook which worked fine. I took this class online during winter intersession. Online is a lot of work no matter who you take but I recommend Jennifer because her organized style helped me get an A. She's helpful and you'll learn valuable information.

This is class is a lot of small assignments. It's very straightforward and simple. She gives you a lot of free class periods where you get the day off to work on whatever big assignment you have to do which is only like three short papers and one research paper. If you just do the assignments you'll have a good chance to pass.

Very nice, much more open- minded to conservatives than I expected, and very entertaining. That being said, I would not recommend taking this class unless you have a lot of free time. Considering that this is a GE class, it demands too much time from you. Also, if you are politically conservative- as I am- you will find the content very frustrating

Pros: Always in a good mood and is more available for help/questions than most other professors. Cons: I think my writing regressed. The assignments we did were kind of ridiculous. The class is once a week because it's a hybrid. I think Dr. Morrison would be more effective teaching a different class. I got a B+ without much effort or interest.

Didn't enjoy her class. She's a nice lady but there is a lot of class work and she doesn't offer much of any feedback on it. Also, she won't give you a grade on papers until the day the next one is already due, so it is VERY difficult to know what she is looking for when she grades. I would not take another class with her based on this experience.

Intercultural comm 174. Very nice lady but has lots of info. I got an A but you have to pay attention. If you show up to class and do your work you will get a good grade. She is very entertaining and knows her stuff very well. Good presentations and lectures. Just make sure you take notes.

She is extremely nice but she is a bit of a hard grader on speech presentations. You do learn in that class but I do not recommend taking her once a week class unless you are fully committed to it. She has such a great personality and I felt bad for being unable to get a better grade.

She is an enthusiastic teacher, passionate about intercultural comm, very particular about what you write in the two papers, including one research paper. Go to her office hours for help on them and she'll point you in the right direction. *extra credit at the end of the semester *Read the articles before class, contribute to discussions and you'l

She is pretty liberal but very open-minded. Her class is fun because you do activities but the work is pointless busy work. It is a must attend because you miss a lot if you don't. She isn't too hard of a grader. Overall, I felt that this class was kind of pointless.

She is a very nice and helpful person, but the material is truly boring. I loathed having to go to the lab and print out the articles, and half of them were too long and dry. She makes you write a ton, but is an easy grader. Would not take her again, but she is a nice lady. If you do not like writing a lot, do not take her.
