Professor McBride is a PR practitioner and teaches his students to be just that. Other professors will go too deep into research, but McBride teaches his students JUST what they need to know, not frill. He may be unclear at times but he's very approachable, so ask him if you're confused about something. He always puts his students first. Take him!

McBride is a great, approachable professor. He has this goofy kind of comedy that makes you smile. The class wasn't too hard and the project gives you a great portfolio peice for future jobs. Great teacher!

Comment:

He is one of the most lenient professors I have ever had and he is extremely friendly and approachable. The only people who complain about him being strict are the ones who don't know AP style. This is going to be your career, so don't complain if you get it wrong and someone critiques you for it. McBride may digress sometimes, but he is GREAT!

Mcbride is hilarious. Super nice and approachable realy wanted to help students succees. A little tough on grading and strict about ap style, but we are pr and comm majors so he kinda has to. His Jim Carrey antics made class lively and made me crack up everyday.

He was my lab instructor and is very helpful! Kinda looks like Harrison Ford/Tommy Lee Jones.. He goes above and beyond to help you out and gives real-life examples. Great guy and super nice. Wish I was a PR major so I could take a class from him again. He even brought cookies for the class on the last day! :)

I don't know what you guys are talking about. He has been one of my favorite professors in my entire SDSU career. He is funny, genuinely sweet and cares about his students. He is willing to go above and beyond to help each student. Great personality and teacher. Can't wait to take him for my PR classes.

Clarity is where this man lacks. Ask him a question and he'll go on and on, but never directly reply. His grading is arbitrary.Change everything he says and still get a poor grade.I can't even tell you what's worse lab or lec. If you have to take this guy it's probably required.You have my sympathy!

Everyone here needs to give this man a break. I felt sorry for him half the time because some students are darn right rude. I loved the class--it was repetitive because it has to be, and some students still didn't get it. If he's picky, so be it, there's no room for mistakes in the PR profession.

I had this guy for Comm310W lecture. I had an 87% in the class and he gave me a C+!!!!!!!!! He's really boring, it takes him an hour to get through 5 powerpoint slides. The information is a waste and everyone in his class complains about going. Plus if you do B+ work expect to get a C.

He's a nice guy with a short fuse. He wanders in lectures and the lab is a waste of time. However, this is a comm class. Use comm skills and find a way to be his friend. Email him. Ask for help. He does care and you can get a great grade.

Nicest guy in the world, but really needs to take control of the class. Everyone takes advantage of him and his class curriculum is so unclear. Pay attention in 310W, because you will not learn too much in this class. Get started on your PR plan early!!!

This class is not very organized. The lab and lecture are never coordinated, McBride doesn't know what's going on, and he grades on different criteria than the lecturer tells us we will be graded on. So frustrating.
