Professor Morphesis is very caring and patient, he gives good feedback and will help you when you're stuck. He's very inspirational and supportive to every student, giving you the time to figure out your piece. He takes attendance but will not be very strict about it, although you should always come on time and submit assignments on time.

I loved taking this class. He lets you start with whatever you want and will then give you guidance to make your piece better. Most of our work was done in class so it's a good idea to show up. Do the work and you'll pass :). He was very open minded and fun to be around.

If you ask for help he's there. But he disappears most of the class time. So you're basically on your own. He doesn't even take attendance, so you can come and go as you please. He's more into conceptual/abstract art. If you want to learn techniques in painting, I wouldn't recommend him. We didn't even paint still life and learn basic color values.

Love this guy. He speaks affectively, not long-winded like many of my art teachers. Very accommodating. Very forgiving and empathic towards greener students. Always available for questions/office hours. Love the dry sense of humor. He stays in shape too, I like that, gives me the sense that he's smart and serious about what he does.

I took both sections of his Life Drawing Class awhile back. I tried pretty hard and went over my drawings with him but for some reason I got B in both classes. I'd say he's a great teacher and artist but I'm still a little mystified why I didn't get an A. Maybe I just suck haha. But he's good.

Professor Morphesis is great! he is very helpful. his class is super easy if you start the projects on time. he knows what he's doing and he will tell you what to correct if it doesn't look right and he'll tell you what you need to add or take off to make it look better. i recommend him to everyone! take him! he is greeeeat!

If you have a passion for art, you will enjoy this class very much.jim really helped me to develop my skills and gave the class a relaxed "studio status" aura.he comes in late but it didnt seem to bother anyone. you do have to ask for further guidance.it's an easy A if thats what you want.attendance is crucial.highly recommend him

Jim Morphesis has been a great instructor throughout all my classes I've taken with him. This semester I began taking painting with him on Fridays and I'm loving every minute! Painting is a great passion of mine and with Jim's help and support, I see myself doing better than I could have possibly imagined! Attendance is crucial. Thanks Jim!
