Comment:

Will mark your grade off for the smallest, most minuscule things. He's been teaching biology for years and expects every student to know what he's talking about, but it's an intro bio class. Lectures are VERY dry. A lot of the stuff he talks about isn't on the exams, but he lets you retake the exams for up to 20 points added to your original score.

John was a great teacher! When it comes to lectures, he may end the lecture early and make you finish it on your own. We had a test over 4 chapters, he literally didn't cover the last chapter because of time issues. That is my only issue. If you participate in many things, random extra credit will appear!

Super nice guy. Extra credit and test corrections saved my butt! He really cares about his students success and tries his best to help in and out of the classroom. It was very fast paced- but thats what I expect for a 5 credit summer class. If you put the time in to come to class and do the work, you WILL get a good grade. Those who didnt were lazy

Lectures are boring, confusing, the power points straight up suck, been told by other students a lot of people fail his class. He goes off subject sometimes. Tests are ridiculous hard, questions most of the time don't make sense. He will give extra credit to take home, nice guy, but there's better professors, don't take him during summer term!

I am almost finished with his class. I think John is a very good man who genuinely cares for his students. He can be somewhat strict on his short answer questions on the exams, but he lets you rework the exam at home and has daily tutoring. He also gives a great amount of extra credit! All in all I am beyond happy I took his class.

This class is intense, John is very heavy on lectures but will answer questions. Be prepared to take lots of notes and to get bonus assignments for extra credit. You get a note card for each test and the option to rework every test at home.

John is a relay awesome guy.his lectures can be a bit droll yet they cover what you need to know. He allows you to have a 7x11 note card with notes from the chapters involved on the exam, so his exams are a bit harder than others yet truth be told forgo the card and just study and I assure you will do better on exams.

John is a great professor he really knows his materials. His class is very hard and mostly lectured based. I barely got a c+ which is probably cause I never used the text book so I recommend using it. He is very friendly and will help you out whenever you need it.

This is a hard class. While in class I thought this grading was bogus. He lets you retake the tests to average out your score. I thought he was just handing out grades; however I can remember all the material he let me correct (after more than 2 years). Overall he does teach the class extremely well and helps those who seek it.

He is an excellent teacher, and good at lecturing. However, if you want a hope and a prayer to pass, you MUST attend class. If you do the Chapter objectives he posts online, you'll do much better on the tests. It's imperative you read the book, and understand it too. He's a really nice guy but the class is difficult. Do your work and youll be fine.

He speaks to the class as if they are all Biology experts. The class average on tests was consistently below a C because all the material needed for exams was not always covered during lectures. He consistently started class at least 10 minutes late each day. Overall, my experience with this professor was a negative one.

Great teacher, he is a bit picky about what he wants for answers on tests and assignments. He does give a good amount of extra credit, and lets you take home test to redo to get extra points. Just make sure you know exactly what he wants or there is a good chance you might not get the points you think you should on assignments.

Great teacher! He is very helpful and really wants you to learn biology at the fullest. He gives lots of extra credit out and also you are able to have a 4by6 notecard on the exam, also you are able to take the same test home and redo it, allowing an extra points to add back on the test. Just go to class and you'll pass!

Very nice teacher. However, disorganized and slow on grading. But he makes up for it by allowing you to do re-take take home tests and adds up to 15 more points on your original test's score. For lab reports, sometimes he will expect you to know some things on your own such as how to graph on word (he will take off points if you don't do it right).

frustrating to have because he's always behind which doesn't give you a chance to do things he says, and he teaches really slow and the class falls behind really fast
