Comment:

Very hard class! Professor makes it as easy as he can though. He has a heavy accent but he is still understandable most of the time. 1 paper 7 quizzes then 2 tests. He curves the tests big time as long as you try and only counts 4 tests. I enjoyed the class and did learn a lot.

Took him Summer '11. Nice guy, great personality. Didn't give us homework. Barely read from the book (rent/borrow it). Grade based on 5 tests which are moderately difficult but passable, and he curved them up to 15 pts. His lectures are very informational and very quick but he has a thick French accent. Passed with an A+ and genuine interest in ECO

I took this class online and hated every minute of it. I have no idea how this teacher gives grades, because it is certainly not by what you submit. This was by far the worst teacher. I could not understand him at all and I tried emailing a couple of times to get a grading scale, but he never responded. I would NOT recommend this teacher at all.

I must admit that this was the hardest and most stressful class I have taken so far, BUT, I learned a great lesson from this course: No matter how HARD it may seem, never give up.I was failing his class with a d or f,but did not drop it and kept studying and guess what? I PASSED! Not with an amazing grade, but a C. Challanging but possible to pass.

Comment:

Ricot has a very thick accent which is difficult to get past since this is such a lecture heavy subject. He makes alot of mistakes on the tests and refuses to admit them. Super nice guy however. His tests are from a completely different book then the textbook and you need a good 3 hours just to get through 50 multichoice. Not recommended.

He is a waste of time. You can't understand his French accent at all! He doesn't know how to teach. The notes he gives you hardly shows up on the test. extremely difficult. doesn't allow makeup work. he's a nice person, but bad teacher.

I withdrew from his class after the second week, but only because I found out I didn't need to take the class. I cannot report on his tests but he does seem to follow the textbook. He is a nice guy but his French accent is difficult to understand at times. You really have to concentrate on what he is saying.

He ies a really good teacher. sometimes his accent gets in the way but everything he teaches is clear and easy for your mind to grasp. he also has a great personality. tests are kind of challenging, but if you pay attention in class and read the book (which by the way is also very clear), you'll understand everything and do fine.

He is a tad hard to understand, buthe teaches his subject matter very fluently. You will learn a great deal in his class and and he is very understanding. Also, he is extremely forgiving. Anyone how passes the final passes the class, and he rounded the class grade by 3%!!! I got an A with little study. Ricot is a GREAT teacher!

Horrible speech, it's great that he speaks more than one language, but unfortunately no one can understand his English. It's really SAD that a college like VCC even permits such an atrocity of the English language to be teaching. It is VERY difficult to understand someone who cannot fully understand English himself.

THIS TEACHER IS THE WORST TEACHER EVER! I took both of his classes at the same time. He is hard to understand. His tests are about nothing he teaches in class and class time is a waste. The book he had us use was not even the one he was taking the tests from so i found it really hard to figure out whst he was teaching. DO NOT TAKE FOR YOUR OWN GOOD

I do not reccomend this teacher to anyone! At first he seemed nice and I made that extra effort to understand him (major accent), in hopes that I would still learn something. But I now feel that this teacher did not help me at all. I missed a test due to uncontrollable circumstances and he gave me a zero for it I offered to do anything but said no.
