Weiler was funny and was very good at making the reading material make sense. His take on globalization was more economic than i would have hoped for. All your work is graded by your TA so i would recommend developing a good relationship with them instead. Lectures not as important if you understand the readings. go to recitation!

GLBL210 is already an amazing class but Weiler makes it better. He gives out interesting reading and topics you won't know much about (but will want to know more about) and you will finish the semester feeling like a better informed human. Reading are tough, but you don't have to do them all so don't stress. Also the TA controls your grade

I love Dr. Weiler!! His lectures are super interesting and he always peppers them with fun stories from his life. This class literally flipped my entire worldview & the recitations were fun and interesting too! Just a few 2-page papers, 2 essays, 1 midterm and 1 final. Lots of weekly readings but they're all interesting. Take this class!!

Professor Weiler is easy to talk to and respects your point of view. Also, his feedback on your assignments helps you get a better grade the next time. Professor Weiler doesn't show any political bias when responding to a student's comments, which is excellent for creating a safe environment for political discourse.

This will probably be my first and last rate my professors because I just did go out of my way to leave him a review. He is such a great person and a professor! He really cares about his student's success and the door is always open for any kind of help! He has a clear grading criterion, and his office hours are super helpful.

Weiler is amazing. He's passionate about the topic and knows a lot. There are lots of readings but they are all relevant and interesting! There were a few 2-page papers but nothing difficult at all.

Interesting and funny professor. A lot of the grading depends on the TA. He gave us a study guide for both the midterm and final which was super helpful and the tests were basically just IDs so not too bad. Readings are helpful, but mostly the important ones he uploads. Didn't use the textbook at all. Overall great professor, love Weiler!

I highly enjoyed GLBL 210 with Dr. Weiler, his lectures are interesting and he addresses his main points clearly. Throughout the semester we had a couple guest lecturers that were interesting as well. 1 midterm, 1 final, 2 essays and 8 reaction papers required. A lot of your grade depends on the TA you have, but I never heard of any harsh grading.

Weiler is a really knowledgeable professor. This is definitely a 200-level course, be prepared to put in the work. Readings are usually interesting, some dull ones, but not often. The CONCEPTS in the reading (which you go over in recitation) are ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL for exams and the research paper; do not skip them or lecture. Great lectures.

An excellent course! The material covered is very interesting. Professor Weiler is very laid-back and approachable. He tends to ramble and speaks very fast in lecture. Taking notes and doing the vast amounts of reading assigned are critical to doing well in this class. The course is very theoretical and requires you to connect broad concepts.

Very good prof and great class. Lectures are interesting and cover most of the many, many readings over the semester, but keep up on your own and don't skip any. He can be disorganized and repetitive so pay attention.
