Comment:

Three tests, and two HUGE group projects. When he lectures he wants everyone to participate so he asks questions, when students answer he says "well, not exactly" EVERYTIME. Why would I answer when no matter what the answer is its wrong. Avoid taking him!!

An embarrassment to UMSL. Severe lack of communication skills, reads directly from the PowerPoint. The few instances he does attempt to explain something it is extremely loosely connected to the subject matter and does nothing to help understand the information. Gives huge project without explaining anything and expects it to be done in 4 weeks.

His lectures are from reading powerpoint. He is always right in his eyes. Mr Johnson will let you know that you should call him DOCTOR Johnson. His grading of projects are based on how he likes or dislikes your group. No passion is shown in his teaching. Avoid this teacher!

Lectures are extremely boring and has a severe lack of communication skills. Only positive is that test questions are all from a test bank from the book's website. You are stuck with one group the entire semester to work on two lengthy projects.

This guy said...and argued when challenged that "oil companies don't make much money on oil"... And said that "damage control statements should come from the CEO level or higher.". His instructions are totally unclear. He simply can NOT communicate on any level. A perfect example of the pitfalls of tenure. My degree is worth less having had him.

You need to read every single chapter and pray before tests because you never know what will come up in there. He is nice but he doesn't know how to get your attention and have you like the clas

He makes this class needlessly difficult due to his lack of communication skils. Anytime a question is asked, he never gives a straight answer. Doesn't teach, just goes over powerpoints from the book. This guy is such a completely incomprehensible dolt. Run, don't walk, from this guy.

I wish I had read the comments on this site before taking him. Not only is his grading structure not consistent he is unclear of his expectations. His 10 page final report consists of an additional 10-20 pages of supporting information and a 1 page exec summary. The class learned these requirements one week before the due date. Worst teacher yet.

This class is taught at the graduate level, so be warned. you will have to do a lot of work (two presenations, two tests, and a 10 page paper). Doesn't sound like a lot, but each test covers 6 chapters and the first test is three weeks into the semester.

Not sure what I learned from this course. Yes, the final project is 40 pages long. He's difficult to understand and grading seems random. Stick to the templates as best you can, and you'll do fine. Stay within the lines = A. Variation = B.

Johnson is a total joke. He is unable to communicate any topic in an effective manner. He can not answer simple questions, even when the answer is evident to most of the other students in the class. He has not updated the material for his course in years and devotes very little time outside the classroom to his course. Avoid at all costs!

Like others said, not only is his grading structure terrible he doesn't read our reports. Our first report we received an 88% with a long, typed response. We fixed our mistakes the second time and got virtually the same grade (90%). When we compared the feedback on our paper to another team's, it was exactly the same! Avoid.
