I had Kate for Writing and Photography and thought she was amzaing.You can see her passion for teaching and photography. I liked her because she was strict but very caring. Always available during office hours. She was even my advisor or my independent study and she was the best! Smart woman if you take the time out to get to know her.

Kate is a sweetheart. I had some trouble with attendance this semester due to personal problems, and she was completely understanding about it and offered to help me. She really goes out of her way to help students, and her class is not at all difficult, but just consists of a lot of reading. I would definitely recommend her and take her again.

Comment:
Kate's teaching methods translate very well to various topics. It doesn't matter what subject you bring up in class, Kate knows something about it and will give you an academic perspective on it - without even a HINT of arrogance. I'm not sure where some of these other reviews came from, but Kate is both brilliant and engaging as a professor.

Kate is an amazing teacher who truly cares about her students. I really don't know where some of these ratings are coming from. She has no time for people who are lazy, but she has been wonderfully supportive and helpful to me throughout my time at Rutgers and beyond. Kate is brilliant and truly interested in teaching.

Trust me, she has a petty side that she doesn't show too many people . . . She will only help students if her own interests are not at stake . . . otherwise, she is more than happy to leave you hanging in the wind and to treat you unfairly . . . bottom line: don't expect her to really care about you as a student
