lectures and powerpoints was the entire class. Powerpoints barely related to class and difficult to use for study guides. She intentionally picks out things she barely went over and makes them a priority on test. Doesn't know how to let a film play, will constantly pause to add unneeded input. Does not give good feedback and makes class about her.

three books required: one is a free online PDF. DO THE TEXTBOOK READINGS! theres a ton of essays that have to do with the films and readings. her lectures are boring. you have to do volunteer work and present on it. its not the worst class but shes not the best professor.

Comment:

Professor Kogan is super sweet. She tries to make the class as interesting as possible. Tests were very straight forward and come directly from slides. I personally did not use the textbook and did well, but know others found it helpful. Sincerely wants you to succeed and is open to helping you do so.

Comment:

An amazing woman and professor. I have taken her Intern class and taking her Aging class. She's tough and sticks to her guns, but is very fair. Will help anyone. All of this only applies to those who truly try. If you're a slacker or disrespectful, than expect a tough class. She's a great mentor and an overall wonderful person.

Easy enough, skim the readings, keep up with the assignments and participate in class. the material does get a bit repetitive and boring. if this matters to you, she is a liberal democrat feminist. Will encourage you to watch Rachel Maddow and MSNBC. Still open to hearing opinions and encourages discussion among class.

Do not miss an opportunity to take a class with Dr. Kogan. What an incredible professor. She genuinely cares about each of her students. She is a very reasonable grader, and the readings she chooses are relevant and interesting. She really wants you to learn the material, and you can really learn so much from her expertise and experience.

I REALLY dislike her, because she's very dry in her lecture and only shows us films to teach us rather than, you know, ACTUALLY teaching us. She grades my papers extremely harshly without giving much details other than saying how she didn't like my paper. Not only is she not informative and unhelpful, but is also extremely rude as well. Wow.

Class is as interesting as you make it. if you're willing to participate, she'll hold interesting classes based on discussions. if the class is silent, she'll just make powerpoints for every class. Show up, participate, and get your assignments in on time and you'll get an A

Boring class. Do the work and show up you can get an A. 20% of grade is participation and attendance , which is extreme. A lot of people tend to be absent due to the dull lectures, which she always goes over 5 to 10 min. Takes things very personally and is nosy about your personal life. Class is her trying push ppl to talk about family problems.

I thought I would enjoy her class, but i found it to be pretty boring. she reads off the slides, which is directly from the textbook. Your better off reading the text, and do other work during her lectures. there are 2 test 1 final, no extra credit. readings are easy. 5 group projects, dumb easy!!! must show up, and 1 page writing assignment.

very nice woman. she was very passionate about her teachings and about her students. i really felt like she wanted us to succeed. workload was very minimal and the class was fun and easy. this class helped me decide to change my major to psych.

Class is easy if you do all assignments, the quizzes are very straight forward if you go to class (attendance is mandatory anyway, only one free absence a semester which sucks). Personally i think she has an attitude, and shes an extreme feminist (guys dont take this class!) She kind of puts down other's opinions, but shes alright.

Dr. Kogan is amazing! Enjoyable class and safe space. You may be put off by her sassiness, but she's funny and genuinely cares about her students because the material is relevant to people's lives. She takes attendance, but don't worry, you will want to come to class because the discussions are great. Read the (easy) book. I def recommend her!

The class I look with her was an Internship. She really pushes her students to reach outside of their comfort zone to get a better hands on experience.She goes out of her way to help her students understand what they are learning and seeing in their placements. Very understand sometimes comes off as rude but is genuinely not. I LOVE KOGAN!

Dr. Kogan is really great and knows her stuff. The material is dull, but she tries to make it as interesting as possible. 2 short papers, 1 final research paper, 3 exams, 1 final exam. Very willing to help those that ask for it. This class is a bit of a challenge, but as long as you pay attention and read the book, you should be fine.

She is a very good prof. She is not on schedule with grading the assigments that she assign.There are 4 tests and no final but alot of papers. A paper on 7 chap from both books every week make and there are other assignments in between.There are also online dicussions overall she not bad. just

I love Dr. Kogan. She's eager to help, even though she doesn't seem interested in helping you sometimes. She can be moody but I think there's just a lot going on in her life. If you're nice to her, she'll be nice to you.

This teacher is really rude sometimes when you actually meet her. She actually told a student quit her job so she could pass her tests. Really? also even though you may tell her she gave too much on a study guide she still gives you like 6 chapters at a time to memorize for a test.NO SYMPATHY WHATS SO EVER.Shes good at teaching but test giving suck
