He seemed to tell us we didn't need to know something for the test, and then less than a week before the test remind us we needed to know it. 8 weeks into class, we hadn't made it past Old English even though the syllabus said we should be approaching Modern English. Very very repetitive, though he's pretty lenient with deadlines.

Dr. Pakenham is a great guy. He's witty, intelligent, and loves what he does. When taking his class, be sure to add plenty of details to projects and tests as he is very detail oreinted. You will also need to get your brain in geer for memorization. He is extremely difficult to get a hold of outside of class. He doesn't check e-mail or return calls

One exam mid-term so we didn't have a final. Great! Knows his stuff but not good at conveying it. Cannot construct a good test. Make copies of everything you turn in and keep your graded work. He lost our first project grades, and some of the other grades. Epitome of an absent-minded professor. Easy, but frustrating.

good teacher. make sure you go to class or you will not understand anything, don't try to learn it on your own. start project early and use alot of examples, he likes that. tests are long and hard so make sure you know your stuff.
