Comment:

He truly did not care for me because I was flaky with my attendance. That being said I still got an A-. I always participated (actually you don't really have a choice). Don't take him if you are shy!!!! You stand up and speak in class every session. You learn to speak Spanish so make sure your spelling isn't off on the exam. Oh & he hates questions

Comment:

My main issue with Professor Benardo is that he does a lot of oral repetition in class but the tests are all written so when I got to the tests I was really unprepared. My advice is to find a partner to review with and review every night. If you do you will get a good grade. Professor Benardo is a fair lenient grader but the class is not easy.

Professor Benardo is great! Smart man and his teaching style is very effective. He will call on you from time to time so paying attention is key. Enjoyed his class and would definitely take him in another language class.

Comment:

He is a lovely old man. Very loveable, remembers each students names. Very knowledgeable. The class is moderately hard. but that is not his fault, you just need to put in the time to memorize the material. you need to memorize a poem. Be alert because he calls on students to answer. tells us what to expect on exams. no surprises! totally recommend!

Comment:

Professor Benardo exemplifies what it means to be a college professor. Even in his 80's he still has more charisma than any professor I've had so far at Baruch. He genuinely cares about educating his students and he keeps you involved (no slacking!) yet by the end it's almost like you want to do well for him as well as yourself. Hes an amazing man!

He is the best professor in Baruch! I really enjoyed to take his class. He directly pointed out what is going to be on the exams. There are three written exams and one oral exam like an interview. Few easy homeworks! Must bring the textbook. Overall he is really a good professor.

Comment:

One of the most respectable and kind professor! He tries to make it easy on the students. I had his class early in the morning, but still enjoyed the class very much. All the readings were very interesting, all from the textbook. We had to memorize poems, and do one presentation. Overall, his class wasn't hard, it was a nice calm enjoyable class.

I don't really get his grading system. I did good on both midterm & final, but ended up with a B+. He's a good prof tho. He tries to make things easier for his students by telling you EXACTLY what's gonna be on the exam. The class is kinda boring. He cares about attendances (maybe that's why I got a B+) and DON'T be late for his class -he hates it.

Great professor. Very helpful, thorough, and tries his best to make you understand the language. I hate Spanish in High School, but Professor Benardo made it a lot easier to comprehend. Take him without a doubt.

No papers, in class essays but very easy. talks about it before he makes you write it. no homework. memorize 7 easy poems. doesnt like lateness. gives you a full outline of the midterm and final. one powerpoint presentation on an author. overall very easy. one textbook whole semester.

He is an awesome professor. i waited til my senior year to take Lit. and i am so happy i took it with him. He is such a sweet person and kind in nature. you will love him. the readings are manageable,he repeats everything a million times so u will never forget. 8 poems to memorize (easy!) a 15 min report midterm n final easy if u did the readings

He is very caring and genuine. He loves his students and is passionate about what he is teaching. He does memory selections on 8 different poems and the final is accumulative but he is a very fair grader. Recommended, you'll definitely learn something from him!

I love this professor! He's the best! Very kind, respectful to all students, understanding. I never liked literature before, but I really enjoyed this class, the material was interesting and he created nice atmosphere in class. I highly recommend!

Great professor, extremely kind and the work load isn't too intense. you just have to memorize poems, the midterm/final is fair. there's also some easy in class essays and one powerpoint project.
