DO NOT TAKE! I'm a PTK member & have never bothered to write a review. I had to WORK&STUDY way too hard for a B in her WB class. Grading is 85% tests, 5% quizzes, 5% hw, 5% discussions. The tests are only 4 q's, if you get one wrong, apply one wrong formula, etc. you're f'ed! She took points off hw for a grammar error, isn't this a math class?

Professor Lerer seems to truly not care about your grade . I tried my absolute hardest in this class and I am not good at math in general. I got a tutor , did all the assignments , was in constant contact with her and she will not budge on grades or extra credit what so ever. I know grades are our responsibility but she has no sympathy ...

Comment:

Not a hard class as long as you teach yourself and understand the material. Gives you homework questions from the textbook which she DOES NOT check, around four assignments that she does check and gives feedback, and 4 tests (90% of grade, DOES NOT drop lowest grade). But she gives you practice tests that are the same as test but w/ dif. numbers.

100% do not recommend unless you'd like to fail. She doesn't care at all about her students, if anything she wants to set you up to fail. Your grade depends solely on tests. She has the worst attitude. She could care less to see her students succeed, won't bother with extra credit or homework to help your grade. Don't waste your time, MONEY, effort

This is true! The students online will not have enough time. I think she enjoys when her students leave her class because it is true that most of her students get a D. She do not show consideration that the students have to retake this course, loss the time and spend more money. If I before had read this, I had never taken this course with her.

Professor Lerer is a brilliant teacher. I love her teaching methods-- they are very effective. She cares about her students and makes Stats interesting as well as relatable to the real world. I would definitely take her again.

I took the online Statistics I class. On the Moodle, next to your grade, it shows the average grade of everyone in the class. The average grade in the class was a D, which means that most people had to retake the class. I got a D+ and therefore had to retake the class.

This class is an easy A as long as you are willing to do the work. There is homework after every class and some you have to hand it. She explains everything clearly and is easy to follow in class. She also gives a ton of practice test before each test.

She is the best teacher i have ever had. She helped me understand math. I mean im sill horrible but she made it better. Missing class is the worst thing you want to do. She does not reteach a missed lesson. She pushes you to your full potential . Doing problems on the board and ALWAYS doing homework will really help you ! Bring her CHOCOLATE !!

She makes her class interesting. If you attend every class and review that day's lecture by doing assignment(solving problems on the book), it'll be easy to get high grade on an exam! I did it and got an A! There are total 4 exams and worksheets (all answers are on the textbook) in every class.

Very rude and does not provide help. When emailing her for assistance she is very abrupt and talks to you as if you are dumb. Many times I have asked her for help and to explain things clearer and she acts like we are troubling her with our questions.

She is a great professor, but it is hard to get a good grade in her class especially if you're not good in math. She explains everything really well but on the tests you will get confused. I have decided to retake her class because of my low grade. Hopefully the second time around it won't be so difficult.

It is beyond frustrating to me that she does not give even a single extra credit assignment. She does overall make the class simple for you, however. It is a matter of if you can pay attention every class and if you can do ALL of her hw. She is very meticulous and will not bump your grades or give partial credit.

I took the online class. There were a few homework assignments but mostly the grade came from the tests. Great class to take if you're good with learning on your own. Also she let me take the final exam after I missed the deadline to take it due to my own stupidity. Super nice of her. Be consistent with your work and studying and you'll be fine.

Some people write here that she is not a good professor and its a hard class. I agree its hard class, because it is math. But professor is really good. She explains everything clearly, if you listen her and do homework you will get an A. I got A-
