Often lectures on topics that will not matter to lecture. Gives quizzes not relating to English, but more so a history class. Can have your phone out, read, do almost anything and he will not care, just don't get up in the middle of class without a reason. Make sure to bring your textbook to class every time.

Professor Slade was a good professor but was very old fashioned about teaching. This isn't a bad thing though because he made me become by far more literate. He focuses on grammar heavily and short opinion essays on controversial topics. This helped me develop my opinion on topics. If you ask for help or talk to him after class you will get an A.

Mr. Slade had a great class to be a part of & always pushed us to do and be better. Mr. Slade did a great job at commanding his classroom. He was well organized each day & always prepared for that days study. He was always early to the classroom & wrote the days requirements on the marker board. but asked us to buy a book of his for extra credit

Mr. Slade is a very mellow teacher to learn from. While he can be quiet, he is very passionate about the English language and is very open about his opinions. He does offer extra credit and chances to make your work better if you need to.

He talks very softly, cant hear him half of the time. You do a lot of oral presentations and essays in almost every class. He's a sweet guy overall, knows a lot of grammar etc. To pass this class you need to do the following: Come to class, hand in your essays, do oral presentations, and praise his literature he's published lol

Loves to hear himself talk. He will go on for the entire class period talking about African American studies, when you're sitting in an English comp 2 class. He's the most unorganized teacher ever, and his grading is unpredictable. Though his class is very unique, you won't walk away with any more knowledge than you had out of 101.

Prof. Slade is the sweetest guy. He's extremely soft spoken, so it's sometimes difficult to understand him when taking notes, but you can definitely tell he's really passionate about his subject. Really encouraging and grades very easy. I didn't put a whole lot of work into this class and he raved about my writings and papers. Really sweet man!

Do Not Take This Class! unless you want to do a 300 lvl class for a 101 class, love listening to a old man talk for 2 hours straight, and make you write an essay in every class then go ahead...never again:(

I enjoyed Dr. Slade for both classes I took. English Comp 2 and American Lit 2. He has a way about him. He seems to come off issue bound, but one needs to understand that literature is always about issues. He taugh me a great deal about American Lit, which was something I rarely appreciated prior. I think he is misunderstood and very effective

He was a pretty nice guy and easy grader. The class wasn't intense at all. I skipped about half the classes, yet still managed to pull a B average. He talks a lot though. He enjoys hearing himself talk and gets a kick out of pointing out every single use o

he is so disorganized, tuition she be reduced for his classes..he only teaches for 20% of the time hes supposed to. Doesn't talk about Af. Am. lit, just about Black issues. Didn't read, just talked. He liked to hear himself talk. Preached more than taught
