Comment:

Absolutely loved this class. The prof is so enthusiastic, and really enjoys everything she teaches. Tests are tough but are definitely manageable, but be ready to put in 10+ hours of practice problems per midterm, and at least 20+ hours of review/practice problems for the final. Really would recommend, makes you appreciate what you're learning.

Literally made a account just for this prof. Would constantly speed through lectures and was very vague on the topics. Her hand writing and accent also makes it impossible to understand what she's trying to explain. By the end of the year, I was learned more from the TA and the textbook then her.

1xx3 is sooooooo difficult. Dont have enough time to finish it. 50min with 5 difficult questions. Each question with many small parts. Terrible pro!!!

Professor Bronsard is very accessible outside of classes and willing to help. That being said, our midterm for 1XX3 was beyond hard and we did not have enough time to finish it. It was to the point where I bet if you gave the exam to 5 calculus professors they would not be able to finish it in time. She also asked the hardest questions.

Worst prof you will ever have. She will not curve any tests. She is a bad prof with a bad system. Tests are very difficult, but she claims they are easy. Get ready to write a long test in 50 mins. If you are reading this, CHANGE COURSES RIGHT NOW.

Comment:

Strong accent, messy handwriting and she goes a tad bit fast but she is really enthusiastic and she loves math. She is approachable and you can go to her or the TA (who himself is really helpful) for any type of help. If you actually spend time studying, and paying attention and teaching yourself, the midterms and exams wont be hard.

Super nice prof! A little hard to follow in lecture sometimes - messy handwriting and thick French accent BUT she makes up for it with her enthusiasm! You can tell she loves math and it's infectious. Very accessible outside of class and genuinely wants her students to do well but you still have to work to succeed

Comment:

One of the best professors at McMaster. There was a comic on her door in which she basically structured the exam. "Work on small problems so you can tackle bigger ones". This was the basis for her exam this year, as the harder questions were designed to be understood from results of easier ones. Go to office hours, ask questions, make learning fun.

TERRIBLE handwriting. Can't read it at all. Very confusing to listen to. Tests were difficult as the marking scheme used led to silly mark deductions. Overall OK prof. Going to class isn't mandatory as she simply regurgitates the textbook on the board.

Very nice and caring person. Always wants the best for her students. I went into the course with a negative mind and came out with a positive one. Do the practice problems and go to office hours, she is very helpful.

She's been a very fair prof. Very organized with her lectures, fair midterms, if you pay attention and know what's important then you will do well. She's entertaining and very nice. I was worried about the class after reading her reviews but I think that for this class she was a dream!

I *ALMOST* switched out of the Honours math program after I had this prof. I am a very good student but due to Dr. Bronsard's RIDICULOUS marking style, I earned a C+ in this course even though my mathematics and statistics grades in all other courses range from B+ to A+. I was horribly disappointed. She is not a very fair prof, I am sorry to say.

She was my PHD supervisor years ago and since then I have despised math. Her explanations were poor, she was never available when I had questions and she constantly insulted me. I can understand why so many students have problems and discouraging comments about her. I guess she hasn't changed her negative attitude at all over the years.
