Prof. Ramirez is very dedicated to her students & the course. She really tries to keep everyone interested in the material (which is very interesting to begin with). The textbook is definitely a must. She drives more for in-class discussion than homework (journals). She grades more based on effort than actual English mastery because this course has no prereqs, so the class English levels vary. The 4 essays are a breeze. It's less formal and more easy & interesting than a typical lit course.

BEST TEACHER EVER!!! she teaches very well and she is very nice and always happy to help. gives good examples on everything and cares about her students. of course you will have to put in your work but if you do everything you should be fine, and if you participate you will have fun!

honestly she is the best teacher ever, and will help you out if you need it. all you have to do is show up to class, and do your work. easy as that and she understands we are tired and dont want to be in class and tries to speed things so we dont get tired of her. she is a cute loving teacher! if you can get it, please do so!

Prof Ramirez was very helpful and consistent with what she taught in her lessons. Everything that she taught was helpful in writing the different essays required by the CSULB English Dept. Overall I would recommend her for those who need credit in the GE Writing Comm requirement. It was an easy A if you put in the effort in writing the essays.
