Comment:
Curras-Collazo is great! She wants everyone to do well in her class. Exams are MC, fill-in, and FR but the FR questions are the same as the homework questions she gives you a week before so there is no excuse to get those wrong. This class required effort + time; memorize and watch the lectures, ask questions if confused! Would take again.

One of the worse professors I think I have taken. I have never written a review about a prof but here I am on a weekend after Thanksgiving. All she does is read off her slides during her videos and her office hours are awful with nothing helpful mentioned. Her tests are incredibly long which makes them hard. Memorize her slides for the tests!

She is one of my fave profs at UCR. I have taken two classes with her and this one was the best. I highly recommend it for pre-med neuro majors, the concepts are so medical. The exams are lecture heavy, make sure you understand each and every slide. Her office hours are really helpful. She really cares about her students and their progress.

Lectures are heavy, especially if longer than 1 hour. Learning objectives don't match exams; however, she does an excellent job at explaining topics she's passionate about. Expects you to memorize small details for Fill in the Blank portions on exams. No curve. Quizzes and Hw are easy. Lab is fun. Office hours helpful with great insight. Study Hard

Constantly late, extremely disorganized, she posts her power points and then adds and removes slides for the class but doesn't update them online. Don't take her classes if you can avoid them

This was my 2nd class with Dr. Collazo, she's honestly an amazing lecturer & a great person. I would recommend CBNS 129 to all neuro students & premed students as the materials we covered in this class was both very interesting and highly relevant to things you''ll need to know for MCAT. 129 introduced essential physiological and medical concepts.

Dr. Collazo is an amazing person. Her lectures are highly informative. If you enjoy a Neuro talk, you'll love them. Her slides are straight-forward; if you study all of them, you'll do good on exams. For 129, you'll need to read for the case studies. Go to her office hours, she's a very nice and helpful professor; and honestly one of my favorites.

I've had her for a few classes and she's not the best CBNS professor, however, she guides you to study the appropriate things. If you go to her office hours she'll sometimes tell you what she expects you to know or into how much depth you need to go. Study images, focus on what she emphasizes and ignore anything she briefly mentions.

I had one conversation with this woman in her office hours, and she pretty much crushed any hopes I ever had of working in her lab or enjoying any of her classes. I felt like a pest to her, like she wanted me gone immediately. She also said a pretty thoughtless and rude comment about undergraduate students to me; unprofessional and dismissive.

It is not required that you go to class. But if you take the time to go over the notes and the helpful diagrams in the notes you will do well in her class. You just need to study, as you should do in any class. Anything she emphasizes, especially right before an exam, will probably be on the exam.

Ridiculously long and dense midterm. She doesn't seem to care if her students do well or understand the material.

SHE IS HORRIBLE! Her lectures are very boring and dry, but mandatory because she does clickers and in class quizzes. Her midterm and final were ridiculous! they both consisted of mult choice, fill in the blank, free response, calculations, put into order, labeling, and matching. she only teaches what she knows, and not what we need to know. avoid!

The worst teacher I have ever had at UCR. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. Shes extremely unorganized, unapproachable, and puts her class on the back burner. She's too preoccupied with her other activities that she puts little effort into the class, yet has very high expectations of her students. No consistency or structre and ruled by her emotions.

Margarita tries really hard, but it just feels uninspired. Her lectures are pretty dry and she's a slide reader. A good professor should really insight you with the significance of the material, she just reads it off. Her exams seem pretty straight forward though. She was pretty helpful and friendly at office hours.

wow its sad to read all previous comments of like four years ago and notice that she is still the same unorganized and confusing. Its terrible that she was the only professor to teach this course because if anyone else would have taught it, it would have definitely been a way better experience.
