Comment:

Mark is warm, and engaging. He's thoughtful in the readings he assigns. He lectures more than some professors at Evergreen, but less than professors at more traditional universities. What I appreciate most about him though is how receptive he is to a certain amount of pushback, never getting defensive when students saw things differently.

Comment:

Mark is an amazingly fun, entertaining and clear instructor. For this class, our major project is to make a video. Even though we have to read 3 books, they are not terribly long or difficult. Mark believes we'll remember more than if he assigned 10 books like other classes have. I really agree. A psychology class should help you keep your sanity!

This was a great class. I have to disagree with someone else though--he did assign a bit of busywork, but it was fun busywork. He really gets you involved in the subject matter. Expect field trips!!!

I had Mark back in 98, and I found him to be a great teacher; friendly, communicative, helpful, funny. I took a class with him in 03 and noticed a difference. He seemed overly confidant, didn't take views differing from his seriously, was harder to approach and just not as kind as before. Hopefully that will/has changed.

Intelligent, funny, and nice. Doesn't bother with pointless busywork, and isn't too anal about attendance. If you learn the material and do the papers, you'll do fine.

Mark is great. He's funny, nice and quite pleasant to look at. Great class. A lot of reading, only one assignment. Basically you get out of the class what you put into it.
