Marine Jones is amazing. I took two British Literature classes with her and had an allergic reaction to Virgina Wolfe and fell in love with other texts. Make sure you do the reading; there will be a quiz. The group project were actually pretty fun and light. Recommend 100%!

I did like her as a person a lot but she jumps from one topic to another, very scatterbrain. It was hard to follow sometimes. Very tough on deadlines.

If you aren't bothered by scatterbrained lectures, a syllabus that she verbally changes every week, no description of assignments and never knowing what to expect with the course/grading you'll be fine. Had I known how scatterbrained and unorganized Dr. Jones was I would have never signed up for her class.

If you get the opportunity to take Dr. Jones, especially Reading Matters (senior seminar) Take it! It will be the most rewarding thing you've done in your college career. It is as equally challenging. Seriously, get ready to work for it, but the result is a wonderful pay off. This class lit a new fire for me that is still burning post graduation.

Dr. Jones takes you on a literary exploration that will cause you to consider the genius of Jane Austen in an entirely new manner. This class is well-rounded in the assignments/work Dr. Jones expects of you: you watch movies, create wikis, and participate in group discussions that cause you to legitimately think.

This is a transformational learning course that lets you work one on one with a child from an underprivileged grade school. The class was amazing and Dr. Jones really helps you get the most out of the experience. The final paper is a bit long, but you work towards it the entire semester with a journal.

It's quite challenging depending on the books you choose, but Dr. Jones grades fairly. As long as you read the novels and follow directions, you will do well. The course is as interesting as you want it to be. It was a pleasant surprise to be able to choose our own books from a few options. Very refreshing.

I took this over the summer in 8 weeks. There are 7 adolescent novels to read. Stay on top of it and you'll do fine. The final paper requires each one to be used, so work on it section by section. Dr. Jones loves what she does and cares for her students. Always email her if there is an issue because she will work with you. Loved this class.

Reading Matters: There are multiple articles to read and you read one-on-one with 5th graders at an elementary school. Dr. Jones is very passionate about this subject and her students. This class actually transformed how I feel. There are blogs about the work you do with the students and a paper encompassing your experiences. Wonderful class.

This course was wonderful. You have a a bit of freedom in the 4 books you read (or three if you choose a certain option). There are discussion posts, a group WIKI, simple journal posts every week there isn't a discussion post, and a final paper. it is not as much as it seems. Dr. Jones is one of the most accommodating professors I've ever had.

I loved this course! You select which novel you will read each module. There are journals that take the place of in-class quizzes, analytical discussions each novel, a group Wiki, and a final paper. Dr. Jones is very organized, gives clear instructions and feedback, and grades quickly. She is very friendly and courteous. You pick your readings!!

Dr. Jones is very knowledgeable in the subject matter and is always willing to help you out. You can ask her questions all the time and not feel like a bother. For this class we read quite a few books, did discussion posts on them all, one Wiki, and a paper. Quick reads, but a lot of writing. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Would take again.

We tutored fifth graders in reading, which was completely rewarding. Dr. Jones gave us class time to travel there and back as well and even drove us. We also were allowed to choose our own personal reading curriculum, which was awesome! She loves what she teaches and it shows. She's enthusiastic, available and made grade expectations clear.

Took Dr. Jones for adolescent lit over Summer A, read 6 books and did wikis on 5 of them and one exam. Required a lot of work but Dr. Jones is an amazing professor and would take her if I had the opportunity to even though I'm not an english major.

Dr. Jones is very excited about teaching, which made this topic more interesting. In this course we read four books (like Frankenstein) and talked about them. I created two WIKI's and we have a final exam where you can use your notes, so take good ones as she writes them on the board. + NO RESEARCH PAPERTHE HAPPY DANCE :)

I have taken Dr. Jones 3 times now and wish I wasn't graduating just so I could take her again! She is an all-around awesome professor and there are never dull moments in her classes bc instead of a boring lecture she instigates fun discussions where she welcomes and values everybody's input. She is understanding and genuinely cares about her students and their success, she is always willing to meet afterbefore class or in office hours. Her expectaions are clear and the courseload is never overwhelming. I would STRONGLY reccommend taking any class offered by her, I absolutely loved her Ad. Lit, Art of Critical Thinking, and Periods of Later Brit. Lit. courses!
