Dr. D is one of the best professors you'll ever encounter. She gives you several opportunities to receive extra credit, which is very helpful. Honestly, if you pay attention and turn your work on time, you're set for the entire semester!

Dr. D is super sweet & caring! Her lectures are interesting & incorporate her own life experiences. She does not allow make-up quizzes, ICA's, or discussion boards -- set reminders for these due dates. The first test might be a bit rough but you'll get used to the format & learn how to take helpful notes.

Dr. D is a gem! She really cares for her students, and does a phenomenal job teaching this course. Her class definitely requires effort, but it's not difficult to pass with an A. She has two exams and one final (which is not cumulative). She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities, so take advantage of it! You'll regret not taking her!

She says attendance is mandatory but doesn't take attendance. She'll occasionally do an in class graded assignment. Has BB discussions for extra credit, super easy, 2 points extra added weekly to overall grade. She's really nice and understanding, and great lecturer. She makes it almost too easy to get an A

Amazing teacher, she gives a lot of extra credit even to those who are undeserving. High lecturer and gives many examples through her personal experiences. If you dont want to learn and study you shouldnt major in COMD! Every COMD course requires a lot of studying.

Awesome teacher, passionate and caring. She does speak about her children, but it's relatable to lecture. This course is application based and I think others don't understand why prerequisites are a requirement. She's clear about what should be read out of class and in-class assignments are based on that. Pay attention in class and you'll do fine!

I feel like those who feel she doesn't teach and is all over the place, especially for COMD3371, are very bad at their basics. 3371 includes a lot of repetition and application of previous knowledge, learnt in phonetics and Intro! Obviously she WONT teach you that. She's a brilliant professor and if you want to learn something for future, take her!

DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!! She is unorganized, goes on tangents rather than teaching lecture materials, tells you lots of personal stories which are no help for the exam, grades you based on others responses (unfair grading system), takes FOREVER to grade, and expects you to do in class activities without teaching how to do them!! Can't teach.

DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR... at least not for Intro 1333. She's a very tough grader, and expects so much from you on tests. Her lectures are all over the place, and she spends a lot of time telling personal stories that don't matter. Test are extremely hard, because she expects exact short written answers. For an intro class this was awful. BEWARE.

She is a very nice caring person like everyone says. The only thing I did not like was the fact that she compares how you write to everyone else. If one person mentioned something or added something that you did not but your answer is not wrong, you gave what she asks for in the prompt/question then you will get a lower grade.

Amazing professor. Period. She grades on a point system and gives more points than is needed to gain extra credit. She can be nit picky on papers (but we only have 3) so make sure you're good at APA format. All exams are free response, so write until your hands bleed! She's understanding, wants to help, & wants to see you succeed. she's a gem!!!!

Dr.D is AMAZING. By far my fav COMD prof. UH. She grades on a point system more points than needed, so we end up with a comfy buffer. For Ex: The exams are worth 45 points BUT she gives us an opportunity to get 60 points (15 points of extra credit if you get them all OR 15 points to blow off if you haven't studied) hard not to make an A. Recommend!

Had Dr. D for a grad school class. She is incredibly charismatic and inspired me to do what I do today. Lectures are organized, assignments were tough but very real-world and her tests were excruciating. I would take this class again in a heart beat.

At this point if you are still looking for an easy teacher you must me out of your mind. the tougher the teacher the most learning experience you get. you have 4 test (5th is optional to replace a test grade), consist of vocabulary words, one essay and class concepts. (no need to memorize nothing just understand the material to pass.

I love Dr. D and all of her quirky stories! Her lectures are engaging and concise. She sets a timer for herself because she loves to talk and gives examples. Group involvement is always encouraged. Now. She is such a tough grader. She wants things done one way only. Her comments on papers do not give enough feedback. She makes you work, though!

Dr. D is an amiable professor who is passionate about her field. However, if you are a student who needs structure, you should probably choose another prof. I enjoyed this class (you will never fall asleep in this class, as Dunkelberger is quite upbeat). At the same time, I struggled to understand the less-specific directions for some assignments.

Easy A if you are willing to give an effort. 6 Quizzes. 5 Exams. Fun lectures. Don't buy the textbook. It was unnecessary.
