For American Cinema I, you have almost no work all semester; just a final paper and a final. Attendance is mandatory, though, and the lectures and films are so dull. It's more of an American history class than a film analysis class.

He was a wonderful professor, and more people should take him. He is very, very thorough, and while some people might find this dry, you will come out with a very thorough knowledge of Film Noir, and an appreciation for film in general through learning about the industry at the time. Highly recommended.

I had Koszarski awhile ago for American Films and his knowledge of the subject is incredible. You get what you put into it. He's honest. He doesn't compliment unless he believes you truly deserve it and you put in the extra work. Obviously, the "entitlement generation" expects easy As and exciting lectures. But you must make the effort.

Class is very boring. Grades are from essays on the films you watch midterm and final. He just lectures the whole class time and will put you to sleep. Final was take home. Midterm was material never covered in class.

Very boring, you will almost guaranteed fall asleep during lecture. The movies are actually pretty good that he shows, but he will make you hate them by how much he talks about them. He comes off as very arrogant and railroads whatever you're saying with his input. Definitely not an easy A.

terrible, absolutely terrible. quizzes are given with open responses on topics not covered in lectures, grading is harsh, and it is just mind numbingly boring. pretty snide at times as well.

Knowledgable because he recycles all his lectures. He says the same things about his favorite filmmakers which seems to impressed people but if you had him more than once you've heard it all before. He even uses the same slides for different courses. Lazy and negative. One of those professor who are out to get you before you get them.

Major Filmmakers class focused on Clint Eastwood films and Coen Bros films. His lectures dragged on every class. He is very knowledgeable about the material but presents it in an almost arrogant way that is not only off putting, but boring at the same time. 12 pg paper for each filmmaker and essay(s) for final. Fair and very thorough grader.

Took Major Filmmakers on Coen Bros. and Clint Eastwood. Never bought textbooks, didn't need them. Class was discussion based, focusing on themes in movies. Discussions rambled and got boring, but Prof. K is actually really helpful in office hours. Two 10-page papers and a final (which was essays). Enjoyed the class.

Painful...just painful. It would have been an interesting class if he didn't drone on about things that had nothing to do with the movies. LOVES the book and the book sucks. Didn't learn anything new that wasn't taught in intro 1. You will fall asleep. Movies watched during the semester aren't on the final. Just a bad time...

His lectures can get quite boring, as he just drones on and quotes the book and has this weird habit of making eye contact with random people--like seriously, staring into your soul. However, he's incredibly knowledgeable and if you take the time to actually listen to him, you'll find what he's saying is pretty interesting.

He definitely knows film inside and out, but his methods of teaching are BORING. All he does is quote the textbook. No mid term, 2 1500 word papers assigned on films viewed in class (BS'd both and got Bs), and a final that came directly from the review questions at the end of the chapters in the textbook. Not a terrible class, but he's REALLY dull.

He has to be one of the worse professors I've ever had. He is very easy on the 200 level courses. But for the 300 level courses he only gives you 3 essays and then expects you to write essays which he can publish. His grading is very harsh. You must write only the way he expects you to write. And he doesn't tell you what that is. And he gives indir

Mad easy.1st half of semester is movie, lecture from the book, and short quiz each week. Quizes are easy if you read chapter and see movie. Attendance is important since it's either a quiz that u can't miss or a movie you'll need for the quiz. About 3 or 4 in class essays for the rest of semester. You'll do well if they're detailed. Bring caffine!!!

The lectures are super boring. If you have to pee in mid of class, wait till the end. The guy is a ****bag if you walk in front of him while he's talking. Movie choices were okay and he seems to be knowledgable on the films; however, I have a feeling that he isn't saying anything that you can't find on IMDB. 4 Papers to write. Really easy class.

Don't sit in the front row if long, lingering eye contact is a discomfort. He'll like you more if you participate. Don't miss more than two classes b/c he deducts from your grade. Take notes. Grade is based on three, fairly-graded essays. He kinda looks like Tobias Funke from Arrested Development.

Boring, lectures "by the book," as others have already stated. The assignments he gives are fairly straightforward. Study the terms, see the movies and you'll do fine. Might want to drink up or caffeinate before class to make things interesting. Some professors are cryptic about exam preparation; get used to it.

This guy is a real jerk.Nasty personality. Not personal at all.Lectures are so boring, reads from the book. The book was interesting but everything I learned in class I could have learned on my own.Didn't explain what would be on final.Midterm easy but given to us due 2 days after spring break.
