Comment:
This professor is the worst I have ever had. He is completely biased against any type of conservative views and is very rude in this language towards students. He does not treat students with respect and thinks he is the only individual with any knowledge of anything. He is awful and I would NEVER take a class with him again.

In preparation for this course, erase all conservative ideas you may wish to bring to the table as they will only be weights upon your grades. To pass this class on academic merit then your only recourse is to be a liberal academic in full agreement with a narrow-minded individual who blinds himself to anything resembling a conservative viewpoint.

Very funny guy, talks a lot about his bets with his friends about politics, which include some funny stories. Very knowledgeable and sends very frequent articles to read. Make sure you read the text book to do well.

Ugh. As a Political Science major, Cobb actually made me want to change majors because I hated his class so much. Not clear of expectations and beware of the weekly "pop" quizzes. Exams are all essay questions.

Comment:
Cobb demonstrates great knowledge in both PS and Statistics, and his attitude is pretty informal. Cracks the class up regularly. Very obviously left-leaning, so beware if that's an issue for you. "Attendance" is taken by a 5-question quiz at the beginning of every class. Don't skip. Majority of class centers on racial issues in elections.

Michael Cobb is easily the worst professor on campus. Avoid him like the plague if possible. He hates every student he comes into contact with (unless they're helping him in some way of course). Also, to reiterate what another student said, he does prefer to meet students in bars, not office hours. I regret taking his class more than any other.

This has been the most difficult political science class I've ever taken. Michael Cobb only cares about himself and his opinions. Disagree with him and prepare to get treated like garbage. Prefers to meet students in bars rather than in his office. Extremely unprofessional. Unprofessional is an understatement.

Worst class I've ever taken. Cobb barely teaches - 95% of the course is just class discussions. I feel like I didn't learn anything from him. He's a very tough grader. Most people got C's on all the papers. No tests though, just a final exam. Make sure to do all the mini papers and blog posts or you'll fail. Skip this class; its boring and hard.

I absolutely hated this class and I'm a political science major. Dr. Cobb expects way too much and his assignments are usually unclear. He's an obvious liberal so if you have conflicting ideology, just be aware he'll pick on you if you speak out. Also, participation in class discussions is mandatory, unless of course, you're okay with failing.

Unrealistic expectations for assignments assigned as well as having poor communication skills via email and can tend to appear as rude.

Dr. Cobb is a slightly pretentious liberal. I think he should make his leanings a little less obvious. He is funny. He is absolutely obsessed with campaign finance laws and it can get annoying talking about it constantly. He has unrealistic expectations for the essays he assigns.

I didn't like the way he handled questions. If someone asked a question, or tried to clarify something, he would say something to get people to laugh at the person who asked the question. Also, it was pretty easy to tell he was a liberal from a lot of the ideas and suggestions that he made. As a republican, I felt uncomfortable to speak up

Cobb is a great professor. I thought that this class would be a drag because I didn't really like learning about politics but the way he taught it, from both sides made it interesting. Friday labs really help put all the information together. Overall I enjoyed it and recommend it to others.

Dr. Cobb was a very interesting teacher. I had very little to no interest in politics before his class. He sparked my interest and made me realize the importance of being well informed even if politics aren't your thing.

Very interesting lectures, there is almost no use for a text-book if you show up for class, you are pretty much guaranteed a good grade. He goes over everything and details are not as important - it's mainly concepts. Key: show up for class.

I would highly recommend Dr.Cobb if your are present in class and have a good grasp on current events you are well prepared for your lab class activities. I found his view on several topics enlightening and his position on making his studens think for themselves and not take his or anyones views as fact refreshing.
