The only professor I would ever take for ochem. This class wont ever be easy, but Nichols makes it understandable. He wants you to understand the material, but you have to put in the time & reach out to him for help. I actually learned the material and did well. Expect to put in 40 hours a week to th

Dr. Nichols is a good professor for ochem lab. He's very knowledgeable of chemistry and has a really funny way of putting things. There are tons of points you can earn in the lab, so if you give a good effort you'll do well. His one fault is that he is a little disorganized and sometimes doesn't effectively plan for the lab.

Dr. Nichols is by far the best professor I've had, ever. He's so willing to work with you outside of class and answer any questions. He's teaching style (he uses a flipped classroom method) is very helpful in reinforcing concepts and makes it easier learn. Organic chemistry is a hard science but with Nichols, it's absolutely phenomenal!

Dr. Nichols is a phenomenal professor. The best thing about his course and him as a prof. is the amount of practice problems he gives in order for you to become completely comfortable with the material. He also does a "flipped classroom," so you can listen to lectures as many times as you need and there is plenty of time to ask questions. GREAT GUY

I absolutely love Dr. Nichols. Organic chem is a difficult subject, but if you put the work in, it's very possible to get an A with Nichols. He is always willing to help his students out. He also has the DRYEST sense of humor, which is absolutely hilarious. I'd take him again in a second.

Gives you a lot of opportunities to succeed - grades are based on more than just exams, has online lectures, optional homework, examples from the book. Really wants to see his students succeed, and it shows. Has a tendency to hammer a concept into the ground, but you WILL understand it come exam time.

He's a great professor but his tests are difficult and are too long for the time we are given. Many people feel rushed and I know that my grade would be much better if we had more time or if the tests werent so long. The class average is a 76% right now (before the final) which, according to his grading scale is actually a B+.

I had him for gen chem II. He posts everything online which is great! He records his lectures, notes, slides, and even provides a recording of his lectures for an ipod. Gives homework and a weekly quiz. Exams are VERY long! He's very helpful though. I would recommend taking his course.

Dr. Nichols is a great guy! Chemisty is, and always has been, hard for me. He really goes out of his way to help me. He's super approachable and very clear. His tests are definitley difficult, but the class grading scale is skewed from the traditional scale. Overall, I would recommend him to a friend!

He is a great professor. He cares so much that his students learn and understand the material. He will try as hard as he can to help and accommodate his students. He is also very interesting to talk to outside of class and is pretty entertaining. I really enjoyed having him as a professor; he made the dreaded organic chemistry class seem fine.
