Has no respect for people's schedules and that they may have JOBS during the summer, is extremely unhelpful and the "discussion" postings have to be essays or else you won't get credit. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Prof Elliot is a nice guy and most of the lectures are spent listening to him ramble. He makes you write essays about unusual topics relating to the text and they're usually long. You'll also give oral presentations but he grades you based on content, not delivery. He's not that bad and he curves at the end.

-Tremendous amount of work. -Useless assignments -Summer DL class means a 10 page questionaire and an essay due every 3 days -Lecture videos so old (199x) that it turns you off -God forbid you take any other class with this -You must LOVE literature and inferred opinions to enjoy this course at all otherwise look elsewhere for a humanities ele

Comment:
This is a three-credit course, but he expects you to write several major papers, read a handful of novels and most of an anthology and write dozens of pages of notes for every one of his video lectures. Once you fall behind, there's almost no way to recover. Take this class only if you've got lots of free time and love watching video lectures.

he expects slaves. i did a tone of quality work and a tone of participation and at the end he wouldnt raise me 2 damn points to go from a B to an A. why? not a grade issue as much as it is appreciation. dont waste your time participating. it's worthless.

This guy knows his stuff. People are intimidated because they do not want to do any work in college. You will learn a lot, especially in STS 307. He does have high expectations, but they are worth it.

This guy is a crazy stalker. He actually looks up every students transcript before class, and has it on file, when he is going through the roster! He's difficult, unhelpful, and overall a horrible person.

Not a very nice guy, expects you to do a TON of work, does not accept any late assignments no matter WHAT. He's unfair and doesn't teach very well. His life also revolves around literature so unless you LOVE Lit, don't take his lit class - you'll have to do SO much work.

his classes are interesting, but he doesn't know how to teach them. I never got a single good feedback from him regarding my assignment, and other students in my group have hard time to understand what he wants. If you take online class, it's even worse - he replied e-mails weeks after you send them

An absolutely awful teacher. Pretentious in the highest degree, assumes that you'll drop everything in your life and focus strictly on his class 110%. Thinks nothing of reccomending multiple additional books during the semester.
