This is by far one of the most regarded and respected professors at UW. Students from various faculties take his classes. What you learn from Dr. Parker will get you far. His students are one of the most successful in the energy industry. You will learn stats, econ, math, policies, etc. His classes are no joke and require a LOT of work.

Really animated prof. His TA's marking scheme could be more consistent with what he's looking for. Easy to reach in office, very friendly, good at simplifying concepts.

Overall, a good prof in conveying concepts and delivering lectures. However, an unhelpful prof when responding to questions because he doesn't directly answer your questions. Also, some of his mannerisms seem like he's talking to a class of children. Assignments are vague, and he does skim over lectures. Class does have interesting concepts though.

Very animated and enthusiastic in lectures, friendly. However, he is often unclear in terms of expectations, assignments, and answering questions. Never gives a straight answer. Sometimes difficult to communicate with.

His classes are interesting. However, he is slow in marking assignments. At the end of the semester, I had still not received all my assignments. He can be cold too.

Paul is generally a good professor. His Japan class is all powerpoint which he puts on a course disk. The class is pretty easy, not the most exciting, but if you are interested in Asia it is good to take. He has a unique teaching style.
