Coming from a good design high school with well experienced teachers who had worked for big companies like Perlow, he is not that great he does less lectures on how to use the adobe programs and more on good life lectures and disapline lectures but he should also put the time into showing the students who have no idea how to use the program.

He takes up too much of your time during class talking about books and he is rude to most students. He helps you improve your work and make sure you keep up to date with your sketchbook. Sketch all the time whenever you can. He doesn't follow the syllabus, we have only completed one project this whole semester and his lectures are very boring.

Kind at heart, and willing to help you improve. Very hard to satisfy, demands a lot of work and expects you to progress with each class. Lectures are a bit boring, but he means only well to his students. Extremely tough grader. Make sure to always upload your homework, and don't skip class. His class is a huge obstacle to overcome & to keep your sanity, BUT he has a good heart and good intentions. He wants students to do well. He constantly encourages students to call/email him for extra help, so do it. Consistency, determination, real effort, and a professional attitude will get you a good grade. Learn InDesign throughly beforehand.

He made typography a super turn-off b/c he bores us w/ books. If u want to learn history, u better off taking History of Graphic Design. You will get more out of the class than Perlow's class, and it will help you to design more professionally. This man don't know how to teach and he's never available when u need help. I thank God that my 1st typo professor was good, otherwise, he would have turned me off w/ typo class. He don't know how to teach at all.
