Dr. Shaw is the best professor at UNO. He is so passionate about his subject matter. He is excited about the material, and he is awesome with the students. I give him my highest recommendation. He is GREAT!! UNO IS LUCKY TO HAVE DR. SHAW!!! The guy who commented below me is an idiot who was in my class; he never studied and did poorly. Dummy.

Honestly, the guy didn't really teach. It was pretty much up to the students to teach themselves in their spare time. He didn't do much in class except talk about random word etymologies and New Orleans history. Would have been good if he actually taught.

AWESOME PROFESSOR! Possibly the most best professor on the UNO campus. He is a genius when it comes to word origins and Latin. I would recommend him to any student coming from any discipline. He is awesome. Pay this man more money! He is the epitome of a great teacher. Incredible!

I LOVE Dr. Shaw! He is so completely awesome, it's unreal. If anyone fails his class, it's a shame, he does everything he can to make sure you understand it. I can't believe he's retiring. He'll be sorely missed.

I loved this class. I took it because of my interest in history and word origins. Mr. Shaw would make it more interesting by linking a 2000 year old dead language to today.

Great Latin teacher, he gives great examples and goes over the material at a good pace. This combined with his whimsical stories make for an enjoyable class.
