Comment:

Dr. Numan is a wonderful professor. Not only does he present the material in a very clear and comprehensible manner, but it is clear that he is very compassionate and cares about his students. I would absolutely recommend this class. The tests were challenging, but it is easy to perform well provide that you attend class, listen, and read textbook.

Comment:

As previously mentioned, Professor Numan expects a lot from you. This class was difficult, but at the end of the day, I felt like I was getting a lot out of it. You MUST attend every class, take meticulous notes, and ask questions if you are confused. Professor Numan cares about his students and wants you to pass.

Dr. Numan is awesome! His class is super hard but he keeps it interesting. Just study your life away and you will be fine and dont miss any classes

Comment:

Double Dipping class. Extremely hard teacher/grader. Flies through notes. I have never studied for a test as much as I did for this class. Is a nice guy but tends to forget his class is undergraduate level. Constantly changes format of tests which makes it hard to anticipate what to be prepared for. Study hard and you can get a decent grade.

Comment:

Very complex class. Tests are hard and very confusing. A big test is labeling parts on a real brain, which is very hard to make out. Numan is a good guy, funny in his own right, but very smart and expects the same from you. Double dipping class, but very hard.

he was very biased in his grading since i told him i was a science major. He was making a pointless class ridiculously hard. When i went to his office hrs to try and explain my circumstances and see if there was anything he could do he told me to consider transferring out of SCU. Avoid him at all costs for psych 43!!!

He covers so much material per class period that it is difficult to take notes. His lectures are quite dry/monotonous. His tests are very hard and long (there are 4, not cumulative which helps). Nice man - wants to help you do well. Read text and plan on spending ALOT of time studying for his tests.

He looks like George Carlin, which is goofy, and while no one is as funny as he was, Numan has his own comedy as well. HOWEVER, Psych 43 is the worst class I have ever taken. It is pointless, obsolete, boring, and graded harshly--it has no redeeming qualities. Take him for anything else and avoid this class at all costs.

PSYC 1 is not a regular psyc class. It's more a biology class with focus on the brain and nervous system. Take psyc 2 if you want real psychology. If you are not good at memorizing things don't take this class. There are 2 test, a final and no homework but make sure to read the book. You also have to be a test subject in 5 PSYC experiments.

He teaches out of the book but then will throw in some random thing that contradicts what the book says and then wants you to go by what he said. His voice is pretty monotonous and it's very tempting to fall asleep

I was worried when I read previous ratings that he would rush through material but the exact opposite happens. The pace of the class was excruciatingly slow. But as a professor he is SO nice and kindly and really wants you to do well. Gives really good study tips. I just wish he went faster so he could cover more material; it's interesting!

LOVEE HIM!! He is hilarious and so interesting to listen to. He makes sure you understand the concepts and really wants you to learn. Tests are more difficult is you don't read the textbook, but you don't have to. I would recommend taking his class, he is one of my favorites! no papers, 3 tests.

Class was TR & it was SOO fast pased. Class is ALL LECTURES. Sometimes he is unclear & all over the place. Moves VERY quickly. Tests are SOO HARD & LONG. I dropped the class.

he is a great teacher. he is very tough, but b/c he really wants u 2 learn the material. only take the class if ur ready 2 work hard & go 2 class everyday. tests r tough, but its nothing he hasnt covered. he always asks he's students how they're doing & how they feel about the class/assignments. he's very caring and helpful.

This class is not worth it. Besides listening to him ramble about his political views (which I do not pay $45,000 a year to hear) he repeats everything he says twice. He spends the entire class going over the same thing as the class before for those who weren't there. He teaches you stats again as if you didn't just take that class. Stay away!

I liked Dr. Numan... yeah, his class was SOO not for me (I dont understand the human brain very well I guess) but he got me to do things I NEVER thought I would do, like touch sheep brains and play with brain damaged rats. Plus, he was very understanding and knew when we were trying hard, even if our grades didnt show it.

I had him for 3 Psych classes including my capstone class and overall he's a very helpful teacher. If you study and pay attention, you can easily get an "A".
