Easiest music history class ever. Do the work and pass the class. He allows lap top usage. So you often find yourself on Facebook during his lecture. Procrastinators beware. Lots of accountability.

I took Sage for piano this semester. He is an incredibly gifted pianist and a pleasure to talk with about music. However, I would have liked more attention as a music minor. Also, he forgot what I was supposed to be working on most of the time. In other words, you get what you put into itâ€"Sage will not take interest in your lesson if you don't.

If you took Fedoruk and liked her this class is not for you. He is very loose with everything and deadlines are a joke. Don't buy the book, you dont need it at all. He has quizes almost every friday and the midterm and final are NOT multiple choice so you have to know what you're talking about.

I studied with Dr. Sage awhile ago, but found him to not only be thoroughly knowledgeable but also passionate about music as well.If you're a serious about music, this is the class for you. He does a couple of study groups each semester, and regular quizzes (usually listening). It's all part of learning to identify composers by their style.

Comment:
Lectures are ridiculously boring and random. He likes pop quizzes every week just because and when it comes time for the test you are responsible for teaching yourself the material. He is fairly lax on deadlines on written assignments but he is not very clear on anything whatsoever. If you take him you teach yourself-Take Dr. claire if you can.

INCONCEIVABLE! Vecini!!! Anyway, amazing professor, very talented, doesn't require you to do much -- if you go to the two study sessions and do well on the tests (plus paper), you don't even have to do the other work for a good grade!

Cool teacher. Class can be kinda boring sometimes, but he doesn't really demand your attention. Tests are a guessing game in terms of material covered.

Sage doesn't know what he's doing. He cancels class and we watch movies on a regular basis- not even french movies, but english with french dub. He's easy but the class is pathetic and we will all get A's even though we fail every impossible test. Avoid this guy if you love the language.

Sage is a learning first year French teacher. For the French some people know, I say he was too hard on his first year. If you have taken four years of French in High School, I'd say take it to remain in the french spirit...if not then dont take it. Au re voir

here's the catch 22 about sage, he's brilliant but he teaches the class as a straight lecture. info shared is very relevant-it's exactly what's on entrance exams for your masters...

I can't believe he's teaching the way he is. I feel that I haven't learn much from the class. Music History with an absent-minded professor like him is impossible. He couldn't care less. Information shared was irrelevant.

INCONCEIVABLE! this class is soooo stinkin boring, and dry. I want to poke my eyes out with my pencil. Too much content, and midterm was incredibly, impossibly difficult. For such a short test, he gave us 25 times too much information. no joke. aargh.
