Comment:

I've had him for 101 and 102 and as a person do love him but as a teacher, he's mediocre at best. Do your homework and you'll do well on quizzes. Lets you know what problems will be on exams. Be the kid that asks a lot of questions. The class is much more bearable if you make a study group. The subject matter is really hard but to him its 'trivial'

I love Rost. If you enjoy physics and hate when slow people hold back the class, he's your guy. He doesn't mince words. If you're failing, h'll let you know. He will tell you exactly what to do to pass. If you complete his HW, you will ace his quizzes, and do well on his exams. He's a very reasonable man, and a sweetheart when you get to know him.

Absolutely awful teacher. Dr. Konoplich laughs at students questions, says everything is trivial, and you don't always understand his accent. He is a typical Physics teacher at manhattan, brilliant guy, but no idea how to teach.

The physics department at MC is terrible. It has a failing rate percentage in the 30's, which is higher than it should be. With that being said, Dr. K is a genius. He's a good teacher. He knows what he's doing and tries so hard to make it simple for us. His test and quizzes are open notes, but they're still hard. They're based off the hw, so do it!

A little hard to understand at first but once you get used to his russian accent you will understand him completely. The guy is a genius and sometimes it makes him go too fast but you can alway ask him for help or go to his office. Quizzes are straight from the homework, open notebook tests its great. Def am taking him for physics 2

good teacher, makes sure you understand if u ask for help. straight forward tests, gives it to you beforehand and goes over it with you. enthusiastic teacher and tells morbid stories but funny at the same time. good guy, would definetly take the teacher again

WORST PHYSICS TEACHER EVER!! Got a C- in his class. I begged him to let me do an extra assignment for a C so it would count towards my degree. Instead he insulted the grade I got on his final. Take Uffer i heard hes good, maybe Ill see ya there since I need to take the class over again!

Greatest physics teacher I've ever had. Nobody knows more about the materiial then him. Rosti-Bear is the man. Just ask him about the particle accelerator he helped build.

Worst Professor I've ever had. Can be really mean if you don't understand something. Super heavy accent. Open note tests and quizzes are the only good thing about the class, but it's impossible to get a good grade still... Lab grade is easy however he never explains anything.

He was pretty tough when it came to the homework, quizzes, tests, and final. However, he lets you use your textbook & notes for quizzes, and your notes on tests. He will always give you a 100 if a lab is done correctly. Also, his accent and use of russian symbols makes things somewhat hard. He does have a sense of humor occasionally though.

two words: Evil genius, you can almost imagine ways to make the freshman fail out, his intro class I would describe as deadly, and have seen him actually laugh at students with bad grades. heres a tip, give him a soccer ball, he loves it. But he is a genius, the man knows his stuff and knows it well but expect a grinding, grueling intro class

Horrible professor, unwilling to answer questions in class. Will only explain things once. Open notebook quizes and tests. Extremely hard to understand what he's saying (very strong russian accent). Too smart for his own good, and expects everyone to be as smart as he is. As soon as he walks in the room he starts lecturing. DON'T TAKE FOR 101!!!

Dr. Konopilich aka Rosti is the best Physics teacher in the department... Quizzes are open notebook and are HW problems and tests are also open notebook and he has a review class before test... Knowing Russian is a prerequisite for this class(has a strong accent and uses russian symbols on the board)... other than that, he is a very good professor.
