3 tests-Gives Study Guides, 5 easy pop-quizzes (if you read). 1 short paper. Favorite PLS teacher at EIU. not an easy A at all, but has interesting lectures and is passionate about teaching. Uses detailed powerpoints, quick to answer emails, and really knows his stuff. Decent amount of readings, but not just boring textbooks . Highly recommend 3223

Tough class and tough teacher. Material is high level and he expects high level thinking. This class requires a great deal of reading and critical thinking. Make sure you like reading about civil-military relationships because that is literally all that you do.

Still my favorite professor of all time. He's passionate about his subject, helpful and keeps you interested. His tests are never easy but if you go to class, read and pay attention you can pull off an A. I absolutely love Dr. Hendrickson, and I wish there were more professors out there like him. He's BY FAR the best professor in the department.

Great teacher. I learned so much in the class I could actually understand my major a lot more. If you do not like to read his class is not for you. I recommend taking him at least once because he is just that awsome. if you are serious get into his classes

My favorite Poli Sci professor. He isn't an easy teacher by any means but you actually LEARN. He's blatantly passionate about his subject, and you can't help but get sucked in too. He gives 5 pop quizzes that will be no trouble as long as you read. He's always willing to help too. MAKE SURE TO TAKE GOOD NOTES. His tests are no cake walk. STUDY HARD

He was awesome. At least skim through the readings or read the conclusions at the end of each one and you'll do fine. The paper is easy while the midterm and final require quite a bit of studying. It's a very engaging class and he does an excellent job of teaching and not simply lecturing. I definitely recommend him!

Doc. Hendrickson could hit students over the head with hints about a quiz on 15 pages of reading 4 days in ADVANCE, and half of them would still fail. Do the readings, and actually engage in discussion (disagree if you must), and you will do very well. DO NOT SLEEP IN CLASS. Wish Hendrickson offered more classes.

very nice. there is a lot of reading.including his own book-but trust me its one of the better ones you read.there is a midterm. a final. a paper. and 5 quizes with the lowest one dropped. show up to class.take notes.& ask friends what the reading was about.it helps when he gives you the pop quizes. an A isnt difficult if you put effort in.

He's an alright teacher. Kind of dives right into things without giving you background information. It was supposed to be an intro course but taught it more like an upper division level. Tests are all writing and long. Gives a few pop quizes on articles he has you read.

Amazing class...I look forward to it every day. He's a fantastic teacher; very approachable, unintimidating, funny, and smart. He explains things so that everyone understands them and the material is wonderful. I'm taking him again next semester. Take this class if you can!
