honestly one of the worst classes ive taken at umass. after the first few weeks the whole 2.5 hour class is almost only student presentations, so somehow Sara gets of doing any work. the class is easy enough but honestly its not worth it for how excruciating it is to show up for such a long, dry class every week. i wouldnt recommend this course.

GREAT PROF. Easy weekly quizzes (that you can retake). Easy weekly homework. One easy presentation assignment and final paper on that same topic. Super helpful and gets back to you if you need anything. I took PUBHLTH328 online, and didn't need to even get the text book (save your money). Each week she uploads slides on the chapter

No exams! Online quizzes (unlimited retakes), online web exercises, a presentation, and a summary of the presentation. This class met once a week so she did take attendance. It's a great class to talk about women's health and to also get an easy A.

Great class! Composed of lectures, group work, and presentations. Semester long project in lieu of midterm and final exams. Sara is really friendly and helpful. This class made for a great elective!

She is probably one of the sweetest teacher's I've ever had! She is really passionate about what she is teaching and does a great job clearing up any confusion. The quizzes are all super easy and can be taken twice, plus all the readings are things you probably already know. The final project is fun because she lets you pick the topic! LOVE HER!

Althought she has an obvious passion for the subject, she dosent present the material well, and almost none of her lectures include test material. TAs were NOT helpful, she she herself was very uninterested in helping the student. Pretty boring to be honest, and tests were a killer. Grading on homework not always fair.

In a word, disappointing. Overwhelming amounts of information presented in lecture with little attempt to streamline or highlight key concepts. Shame - it could have been an interesting class. Luckily passing is a breeze, thanks to extensive study guides, about the only positive to this course.

While teaching 500 kids is hard she could do a much better job, and not much of the test material comes from her notes... And really should study her subject matter a bit more, it will help her in terms of her own apperance...

Absolutely terrible class. Pointless to go to. Lost my 2nd test and was not helpful at all when I addressed the issue. You basically teach yourself the material. TA's don't even speak english. Her lecture material is taken directly from the book. Boring material.

Wow, some people on this site have very immature ways of rating people. Sara was a very interesting teacher and provides anecdotes to help with the material. She's a licensed nutritionist who has counseled people before so she was very knowledgeable and interesting. One of the best at UMass, always willing to help.

bad class, lectures are boring she only reads from slides which she gives you online, exams are SUPER HARD, only reason i got a C in the class was because of the easy homework which are 35% of my grade, her TA's barely speak english

This class is so boring. This class really disappointed me, I thought it would be really interesting but it's not. She doesnt actually teach she just reads off of her notes that she puts up on the over head projector. I wouldn't recommend this class to anyone.

Shes nice but just reads power point notes which are online No need to go to class at all discussion groups are a waste they r just to get and recieve assignments but the assignments r straightforward and a way to boost your grade tests r HARD & detailed multiple choice that r on up to 7 chapters take if good at sciences an dnt want 2 go 2 classes!

She's good at making lectures interesting, but goes pretty fast. Notes are online-pwrpt slides, projects are easy, tests-midterm & final are hard, attendance mandatory. Printing out notes & bring to class helpful. She's a bit disorganized--have to ask what she wants for projects. TA Courtney Little was very good-e-mail & review sessions.

she is the nicest teacher ever and you will love her. this is the first time she taught this class and it was a little unorganized. it was very basic information and did not cover all the material. it does not count as anything and is an elective. it is also a review for nutrition majors. also did not use textbook so that part was a waste of money
