Probably the most balanced professor of the econ department. Clear and concise, not very political, fair amount of coursework. Show up to lectures, take notes, read the text, pass the test. Seemed readily available for help but didn't really need it. Shame I couldn't get him as an adviser.

a great professor. fair grading, extremely helpful. most of the material, you will learn in class, depending on what textbook is assigned. very concise, open to any questions, and provides both personal and academic guidance to students if needed. the course is fairly easy if you attend, pay attention, and put in the effort and time.

If every professor at Purchase were like O'cleireacain, I would have stayed past freshman year. He's dead smart, extremely articulate, charming, and helpful during office hours. His teaching at Purchase says something about the job market for econ majors. If you don't take any of his wonderful classes, at least take a lesson from that.

I liked him. Very dense, but I was surprised at how much I was able to understand about that esoteric subject.

This professor is one of the best at Purchase. After taking my first economics course with him, I was shocked by how much I actually learned! His lectures are very informative, he doesn't waste time, and helps his students any way he can. I'm taking another class with him now and he's just as good!

O'Cleireacain is clearly a top quality academic. As somebody below mentioned, it is somewhat surprising that he teaches at a State school (although he is also an adjunct at Columbia). He was selflessly devoted to helping me with thesis on Post-EMU Transatlanticism (which later got press publication)

he's an ok teacher, you have to read the assigned readings and take notes in class. it helps since grades msotly come from essays(alot of comparission ones) and he goes over comparisons in his lectures, gives u the answers practically if u pay attention

Economics classes are automatically annoying, but he's not. He's clear and to-the-point. He's difficult, for sure, but an excellent professor who should be teaching at an Ivy League school (and I think has).

Contrary to popular belief, his class isn't hard. He tells you how to get a guranteed A on the exams. Do that and you will not fail. Oh yeah, his lectures are fun, engaging, and he knows his stuff. He's too good to be at Purchase, just type his name into
