Comment:

Pros: Great professor with a sense of humor, easy quizzes and exams, uses the Genki textbook and workbook. Cons: the quizzes are almost everyday. There are way more pros than cons for this professor. He is a really awesome guy and he makes Japanese really fun and simple to learn.

Lenient grader, attendance doesn't really matter. Calls on you to participate, however doesn't worth any points. Basically relies on the textbook, but is a great teacher overall. Definitely better than all my previous language teachers! As long as you pass the test and final, you're do fine.

His lectures aren't the clearest either. Luckily, I have some native Japanese speakers who were willing to help me with my HW. The class is very fast paced so it's hard to keep up. My suggestion is to type all of your assignments so you can go back and look at them later. YOU MUST USE KANJI IN THIS CLASS!!!

Great Professor. He's chilled and relax. Very forgiving on late hw or assignments. Does not grade hard on speeches or oral. Gives out weekly quiz at the start of class, kanji -> definition & hiragana. Class is not hard if you put time & effort into it. In all test, midterm & final, he gives study guide for each. study it and you will not fail.

He is very knowledgable on the topic but his class is not easy. You will need to do the work in order to get A. There are some work for this class. 10 quizes, 2 midterms + final, 4 writing. It seems a lot but the wiritng and the final is sorta inter-related.

He is one of SJSU's finest. Inaba Sensei is what made me want to major in Japanese and he was there every step of the way from lower div to upper div classes. In every class he made it so that everyone understood the material and and throughly explained things when it wasnt clear. you will not regret taking him.

Hey is a great professor. Even if you fail a test he will do his best to make sure you know the material and even lets you redo the test at home for some extra points. He doesn't want you to give up on learning the material and always keeps you motivated. AWESOME TEACHER!!! And he practically gives you the answers for the oral and written tests.

Inaba sensei was extreamly helpful if you didn't understand the material and takes the time to explain it until you understand. He gives you study guides for the test that tells you exactly what will be on the test, beware of his final though, it's a lot of memorization. Overall I would take him again.

He was a great teacher, very helpful.. I didnt attent class in the beginning to middle because I had a lot of personal problems, yet he tried to help and never discouraged me nor told me to drop the class (as most teachers would). I would definitely take the class again! He is very friendly and funny, makes class interesting!

Inaba is my #1 favorite professor at SJSU. He is kind, funny, interesting, and teaches Japanese effectively and well. His courses are a challenge but he is more than willing to help you with whatever you need. I hope he continues to teach for a long time.

Comment:

Very nice, very helpful teacher. He truely cares about his students grades, and is more than willing to help you out. Go to class everyday though, his quizes are worth a lot and he teaches new concepts every day. If you put in effort, he will give you a good grade.

Prof. Inaba is only person I know who can make Converse sneakers and a blazer go together. Simply amazing, but not as amazing as his teaching. I don't like to speak Japanese because it's rather embarrassing, but it wasn't a problem in his class. I'll never forget when he called me out for not studying. Though I still really need to study more...
