When I was in undergrad, the sayings were go to UK for Organic, Berea for P. Chem and Berea I think for P. Chem. The only value of this course was learning how to use excel and create lab reports Tests did not match material. lectures were unmemorable. Class was harder than it needs to be and a waste of time.

Comment:

Anyone with a basic knowledge of chemistry can easily pull a 95 out of this class without much effort. Lecture is straight from Powerpoint slides, and homework is a walk in the park. Tests are easy but short multiple choice, so you could be in trouble if you miss too many. Recommended, but be ready for tutoring if you don't know much chemistry.

Had her for 101, lecture is terribly boring and explanations miss the mark. Class averages on tests were awful, that being said the tests are not that hard and you will fair much better if you just teach yourself the material. If you try and learn from her you may fail.

Not the worst professor I've ever had but definitely not the best. Took over the summer and had absolutely no idea how I was doing in the class until 2 days before the end semester. Not that it mattered since she bumped everyone up by about a letter grade (at the END of the course). Would have much preferred curving each individual exam. Was very confusing in class and not accessible outside of class for extra help. If you can, take Dr. May... He rocks and you will know chem inside and out.

Dr. Godbey is terrible at teaching. Tests consist of only a few problems that are worth a lot of points each. She reads directly from Powerpoint presentations and only covers the simplest of example problems while putting harder problems on tests.

AVOID AT ALL COST! test are 10 questions set up so that if you miss one part you can't get any of the other answers. homework only counts for 10% were as the final is 30%! is not helpful AT ALL so don't bother asking for it. skips around in notes all the time. expects you to know everything without her teaching it. wears same outfit EVERY CLASS!!!

I had a 4.0 until her class and I worked my butt off for a B-! She jumps from topic to topic and her tests are only 10-20 SHORT ANSWER questions, making it VERY easy to get a bad grade. Only teaches with ppts and hmwk only counts for a fraction of your grade but is still mandatory. Avoid.

I had Dr. Godbey back in the fall of 2008. Worst professor I've had. Her lectures are boring and she jumps from one thing to another. Each test was curved 10 points so everyone didn't fail! Dr. Godbey is a hard professor, but she is very dedicated to helping her students. She will stop and expain anything you are having trouble with as long as you ask. If you make it past midterms it is all down hill from there. I think I learned more in her class than in any other class I have ever taken. I would take her again.

She does not take much pride in herself, at least as far as appearance goes. She normally is dressed in a faded black pants and a black polo. She?s clean, she just looks like she doesn?t try. She?s not, by any means, an ugly person. A little makeup and some new clothes would work wonders for her. She a very likable person who seems to truly care

This teacher knows her stuff. Including working with US Army Missile Command however she is can be a little jumpy at times she goes from one topic to the next and there is not always an easy transition. The only tips I can give you if you take this class it to read your book. Your spending 200$ on it anyway at least use the thing.

Not a completely easy professor, but if you had chemistry at all ever it'll be a breeze for you. willing to help if you're willing to show up and care. Homework optional, but recommended. If you're struggling, look over the powerpoints. Simple as that.

She seems like she might be an ok person if you knew her out of class, but in class she makes you feel stupid. When you ask a question she makes you feel horrible. I'm going to try to avoid ever having to take her again.

GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL HAVE TIME! We have to correct her with mistakes in teaching and on exams. Sometimes she seems knowledgeable...but I think it's fake. If you are independent, go for it because you will be ALL ON YOUR OWN. You will be lost forever. Do not take her.
