The oldest faculty member by profession (and age) as she'll remind you, she reminds me of my grandmother if she was a chemistry genius. Class attendance is not recorded, but if you miss lecture, you will have a VERY hard time passing. Lab is mandatory. She can be abrasive socially, but her knowledge in invaluable. 3 tests, accumulative final.

Great professor. Old school in the sense that her online presence is practically 0. She is clear on what her exams and quizzes will be on, and she warns you ahead of time. Got a B in both her Chem 02 and 1A class. Don't be using your phone in class and she won't get mad at you. Easy to get along with, fun, knows the material, enthusiastic.

If you learn well through lectures, then Weiner is a solid choice. She is very old school, in that she has no email or other online presence. She is a bit of a stickler for how you write up your labs, her expectations are clear. I loved her. However, if straight up lecturing isnt your thing, you might want to take someone else.

Her lectures weren't organized very well. She would talk about one topic and get distracted, then talk about the thing that distracted her instead of finishing the first topic. She's very vague and doesn't explain concepts very well. She acts like the students already have knowledge of the subject before lecturing about it. Not technology friendly.

Great teacher. I have a hard time understanding why so many people hate her. All her rules make sense: no phone use in class because you get distracted. She loves answering questions and is very patient, explains well, and her examples are harder than what she puts on the test. Only disadvantage is that she's not tech savy.

This is the worst teacher I've ever had! Nothing is online, so you can't check your grades. Lectures are entirely verbal (no power points or visual aids of any kind). She doesn't even provide an email in her syllabus. She's unwilling to work with students who have accommodations. She publicly berates students in class and is an overall rude person.

Don't take this class unless you absolutely love chemistry and understand everything. Terrible intro course cuz she expects us to know everything and talks to us like we're on the same level as she is. Has really hard tests which comprise most of the grade percentage (doesn't count hw or attendance). expects us to memorize everything inc nomenclatu

She does not use technology so grades are not online. Math problems are easy because she gives a lot of examples, but conceptual stuff she doesn't explain well. Her labs are graded extremely hard and if you dont do it her way its wrong. Her tests she gives a lot of partial credit. 3 tests 1 quiz 1 final and 10 labs.

Absolutely an awful teacher! Hardly explains you the step to get there, but expects you to know how to solve it. If you don't understand something and try to ask her, she yells at you which makes you feel like a stupid idiot. I am a hardworking student and I love to learn, but I can't stand her. I learned more from YouTube than I am from her.

A hard class in general but she does a good job of teaching it. The homework assignments are optional but it is impossible to get a good grade without doing it. Seeing her outside of class is very important if there is even one thing you don't understand. Ask questions! Take good notes. Everything she says is important.

Must attend lecture to do well in class. Her test questions are exactly like the example problems she gives in lecture. So if you take good notes and study how to do those problems, you will ace the test. There are extra credit questions on the test. She is very intelligent. Gives you a "tough love" kind of vibe. Take her if you work hard.

Amazing teacher; doesn't just give easy credit for doing an assignment, she grades thoroughly which really helps prepare you for the tests. Pay attention during lecture, her tests mimic them. People complain about her being rude and a tough grader, but she loves those that go to office hours. Show you care, work hard, and she'll help you succeed.

Don't buy the textbook. Complete the lovely assignment sheets she hands to your before each section, the problems are identical to her exams questions. Her multiple choice are tricky so record the lecture and make note. This class is easy to master.

Awful teacher. She hardly explains anything. She writes problems on the board and expects you to know what to do without ever talking about it before. Imagine you're in math and the teacher writes a problem on the board then solves it without ever giving you the proper equations. This is coming from an extremely hardworking student.

If you just need to take the class for a requirement, you're fine. If you are pre-med, you're going to need to study a lot on your own, because she does not cover everything req'd for the MCAT. Expanded octets? waveparticles? Precise bond angles? Never taught. She focuses a lot on high school level chemistry and doesn't teach much more than that.

She is very tough, but overall a good teacher. The first two tests are mostly all math related problems and are easy, she mostly cares about how you set up the problem, not if you get the right numbers. The multiple choice on her tests (test #3) are hard. Labs are often long and lots of write ups! No homework other than labs.

Don't buy textbook. Do handouts! Know whats covered in lecture! Her tests come straight from lecture. I recorded them because I have trouble staying focused so I'd miss things here and there. Her multiple choice questions are death. 1A labs take forever and are hard. 1B labs are way better. She really knows what she's doing. Great teacher.

Tough, but not as bad as some. Grumpy demeanor. Explains the material well, but the tests are hard. Labs are fun, though. Just don't show up to class late, or she'll scream at you in front of the class.
